Sea World (Aus) | Storm Coaster | Mack Water Coaster

Re: Sea World (Aus) | "unknown" | Mack Water Coaster

The park in Australia is not connected to the chain in the US, so my guess is that it will be something unique for this park.

Re: Sea World (Aus) | "unknown" | Mack Water Coaster

It's well and truly underway now.

The Bermuda Triangle Ride (A clone of which exists at Movie Park Germany) was gutted for the dark ride section of this one...Someone has posted a video showing the site at the moment...Mostly just footers (Video comes Complete with the parks 80s jingle as the backing music lol)

Re: Sea World (Aus) | "unknown" | Mack Water Coaster

That PR image is genius. Looks fantastic, when the reality will be this fugly mass of steel and over-sized track in the air like the others

Re: Sea World (Aus) | "unknown" | Mack Water Coaster

Topic title can be changed to "Storm Coaster".

A few pics here of track in the car park and groundworks...By the looks of it, it'll be a clone of the one at Djurs Sommerland, but will have a dark ride section. It'll also have that airtime hill with waterfalls that a few of them have:

The ride in Djurs Sommerland is very fun, but I think this will be a custom ride.

The rumors about a clone came from somebody who found an old blueprint-ish picture of the one in Denmark and posted it as Storm Coaster.

I could be wrong though.

^It definitely is a clone of the one at Djurs, right down to having the airtime hill with waterfalls.

But the ride is done:

Work continues on the theming. The building has been surrounded by a stack of shipping containers Take that Thorpe!

Somebody parked in the wrong spot:

The transition into the show building will be through the hull of an overturned ship, with a headchopper under the propeller (So the splashdown will be indoors)

A snippet of animated POV was shown on TV too, but the indoor section of the ride will be like the engine room of the ship, with fire effects and the like.

Wow. I really can't wait to see a POV of this and how it turns out. It's looking good up to now, I o have a soft spot for Mack Water Coasters and I have no idea why.

This could turn out to be amazing <3
Not good enough to warrant a trip to the other side of the planet, though...

I don't know if anybody has seen them, but here's a closeup of the boats/cars:

Also, another shot at the head-chopper on the airtime hill:

I cant see this opening before the December school holidays...Hasn't even done a test yet AFAIK.
How long were you going to be in Brisbane for?

^ That works for me! I'll be there at the end of January.
