Sahara Casino closes, Speed - The Ride SBNO

Heard deconstruction had only started last month - if so, only a few weeks old - what a cracking little ride that was!

Nice to this ride is being relocated finally.
Looks like a really good ride. It also looks very nice in that concept art, I know it will not look that good in real life, but we can all hope.

The tower is basically gone. All the track heading up from halfway around the bend is gone.

Seeing as how they need to rebuild the small plaza (to an extent) it is going into....I would guess 2014 latest, late 2013 at earliest.

Edit: this plaza is where it will be built at. Will have to ask my boyfriend to drive me on down the side road next to it so I can snap a picture of the supports already laying behind it :3

^Ugh, horrible. Two demerits for even suggesting it!

Here's a question: Has a coaster ever been relocated such a short distance before?

Not counting the Miler moved within the mall of Krazy City in NY. Non-kiddy sized coasters only, please.

As the crow flies, Traumatizer only moved a couple of miles ;)

No coaster beats this:

Terra Mitica relocated their SLC (used to be called Tizona) from Iberian area to the Greek area (across the park) under the name Titánide...

^ The relocation has took it's toll too from what I've heard about it. It's a lot rougher than it used to be (and that's saying something). Let's hope this doesn't get any rougher.

I dont think it would seeing as they plan to salvage what they can use and then build the new layout.

^ Yes, but as I said, the other coaster we were in reference to, literally only moved to the other side of a park and actually worsened in it's move.

Really interesting to see that it's just been lying there for a decade. I did a bit of reading and found the Sahara hotel/casino actually reopened, but it seems they'd already sold the coaster.

I may be going to Vegas later this year so I've added this to my list of essential sights to see! 🤣

PS. @CanobieFan did you make it out to Primm at all? I'd love to know what (if anything) is happening with Desperado as it was reportedly testing last September.
