What I'd like to know is how on earth they managed to find this thread. Presumably there's some way of searching for "reasonably popular boards which have topics with casino in the title"?

Thanks a lot! I decided to try it out, at least for a while. I'm not sure if you knew, but British TV crime dramas are actually a Norwegian Easter tradition. So it's actually very on topic these days!
As far as spam thwarting goes, I'm not sure if this is the most advanced attempt I've come across, but it's certainly in the top five. Of course I hope not to see any more of this in the future, but if I come across another interesting attempt to spoil our lovely forums with spam, I'll try to provide an interesting explanation of its details.
We've had a couple of recent cases of accounts copying over threads from r/rollercoasters, as they constitute content that appears entirely legit. A while after the thread has run its course, the spammer scum edits in a couple of links in the post. Thankfully, they leave some pretty telltale marks that make them possible to spot, and bans have been handed out generously in every case I've seen.

I remember the day when I heard about the rides at Bill's Casino. Al this stuff is caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. I got so sick of all this situation and restrictions. I want to live a normal life, to go and have fun wherever I want. It's very ridiculous what's happening nowadays. Now, I started to play only online casinos. There is a lot of them that It was very hard for me to chose a good one. I play now on ****** (haha, as if we're leaving the name of your crummy scam site standing here - the mods). They have the easiest and fastest cashouts. From my point of view, this is the best advantage.

Can this thread be locked? When Bill is ready to formally announce the future we can start a fresh one way or another. For someone who hasn't ridden and clinging onto the slim chance this comes back I can't help checking any update and potentially enabling another ploy.

How strange. Another new member who apparently signed up just to air grievances about a casino and the pandemic. Let's just put it this way, if another new member signs up just to reply to your post, you will both be banned immediately unless you give me an extremely good reason not to.
At the moment, I watch it with the same fascination as you might watch a bug zapper with a cloud of flies flying around it. Let's wait for another flash or two before we turn it off.

I’m confused; how do we know that they aren’t genuine members? I know I’m not the most lateral of thinkers, but I definitely didn’t notice anything untoward about any of the people who signed on; I genuinely thought that they were genuine members...

Have you read through Poke's posts above? There's a few telltale signs which, when you've been doing this for as long as we have, you learn to spot. It's one of those things where we spot one or two red flags, which when you dig a little deeper you're able to piece together.
Clue #1: They show genuine concern for Buffalo Bill's.
I was about to make a post listing some of those telltale signs Hixee was talking about, but yeah, this is actually enough in itself. Nobody cares enough about Desperado to sign up to make a post about it (and only it), and if they did, they would probably mention it by name.

Crazy enough, Desperado was my first hyper and hooked me for life.
So today the post was updated to not only include the new text, but also a link for the site (which I removed).

I banned the scum for good measure.
