What's new

Real Madrid World | Hala Madrid | GCI Wooden Hybrid Coaster | 2024

Testing is underway and 7 car trains is a new one for GCI;
Looks Good!! However, i have my doubts about the 7 car trains. For starters, CAPACITY, i know that Bollywood Park isn't the most visited park in the Dubai area but from seeing pictures and videos of the place, the rides and attractions area looks quite busy most of the time. Secondly, AIRTIME / INTESITY, due to the shorter trains the intensity of the likes of Wodan and Troy won't be there which is a shame for what looks like a really good layout.

In theory don't shorter trains make for a more intense layout?

According to a Skyline Attractions engineer, Bombay Express has these trains because longer ones would require milder hills, and that the park's capacity needs aren't as high. It's an unusual design choice for sure, and one that I'm holding out opinions on until we get more testing footage. That being said, I've always been excited for Bombay Express, primarily because of how far of a departure it is from GCI's typical designs (even Texas Stingray) - it feels more like a Gravity Group/CCI than a GCI, to be honest. It looks like one of the better GCIs for sure!

Shorter trains allow for sharper turns and hills, and they pick up speed faster but lose speed a bit faster too.
See Avalanche at Timber Falls or Twister at Grona Lund for an example of how a short train wooden coaster performs.

This is fantastic to see. I had hoped that this would open last year. I really think this could be a sleeper hit.

This looks like it could be really excellent, with lots of airtime; I'm very interested to hear some reviews!

Looks slow 🙃

Jokes aside, I am looking forward to a full POV. The warm climate at Bollywoodpark should really help this ride to keep its speed.

I drove past it yesterday and couldn’t figure out what the had done. But they clearly took the walls down.

Some more pictures of the coaster, a sign suggests it should open soon and hopefully it does.
