There's a girl in my history class that insists it's "Hun-gary." We go 'round and 'round arguing this...

How do you pronounce "Hungary?"

Hun-gary

A more humorous topic would have been "Pronounciation of Arkansas"
Selections:
Are-Kansas
Ark-an-saw

But, what ever floats your boat.

There are people that pronounce it "our kansas?"

Wow. And I though "Ill-uh-noiz" was bad.

"Caleefornya"

-Arnold Swartseneggar

...I went with Hun-ga-ray.

I'm really lazy so it'd probably be "ungree" but if I'm in the mood I'll pronounce it Hun-Ger-Ee.

What a random topic.

Hun-gah-reeh. I'm sure Hungarians don't pronounce it like that, but that's the only way i've heard it pronounced.

Hungry - cant imagine saying it any other way.
Iits a bit like

Tom - ato
Or
Tom-arto

and

Pot - ato
or
Pot - arto

i would say hun-ga-ry, it all depends on what one thinks (god that sounded posh), i sometimes say hungry. But saying potato is best with a slight irish accent, though i see hundreds of them every day :s But this is so random and getting off topic! Hehe!

I would also say Hun-ga-ree and it sounds the best IMO. Hungry sounds also good at the moment, because I'm it.*walks to the fridge*.

Pretty confusing I'm afraid...are we talking about being in need of food or the country?

food = hungry

country = Hun- Ga-ry

Hun-Gary... Though I think it's all part of my poor Lancastrian upbringing :D

I say Hungry. I guess it depends on where you live. Northerners are too lazy to speak 1 more syllable. People from other parts of the country tell me I talk to fast.
:roll:

BTW, I say Ar-kan-sa
