Potential technical fault with Th13teen?

The Mirror is investigating a "potential fault" with Th13teen at Alton Towers according to one of their producers who contacted me this morning. I can't find any clue as to what the fault could be and the only thing they have published was an article about the ride was when the park reopened after the Smiler accident and the coaster had to be halted for several minutes due to "technical difficulties". We all know that's SOP for any coaster and it seems to me that they might just be sensationalizing anything to do with AT because of what happened.
Does anyone knows what they're on about? Or if you happen to see them publish the article, please post a link here.

Just done abit of a search around on all the "news" sites. Most of it reads as if it is re heated storys and over inflated crap.

All of which is to say this sounds like an unrelated, normal maintenance downtime.

What a bunch of false muckrakers.

There's no story here, and I'm sure this was discussed in the Smiler Accident topic as well since this came out on the day the park reopened...

If there's no story, then why did the producer say they are writing a story (not the one that was published the day the park reopened)?

Because many freelance online journalists are "paid per click" on their news stories, incentivizing an online news culture that is focused on encouraging "click bait" news titles that provide shallow coverage, no longer driving at real story coverage or investigation?

Or at least it would appear if there really is something out of the ordinary with Thirteen's operations, it hasn't gotten outside of Alton. However, I would cry wolf at any serious investigation, given the Mirror's tendency to try to ride coattails of breaking news in the interesting of boosting page views.

OK. I was a bit confused. I thought Nemesis Inferno was saying that the Mirror wasn't writing a story and had contacted me for no reason. Also didn't realize that the Mirror was the UK's version of the New York Post.

Ah gotcha. I would be interested if the producer could provide more details on their scoop with Thirteen.

You'll probably find someone on the park has rang in with a photo of the train stuck on the lift or something an in their ignorance the Mirror have gone digging for a bit of substance to a potential article.

As I've said in the Smiler topic too, the legal team representing those most seriously injured also seem to be feeding stories into the press every few days to keep it fresh in the memory.
