Extreme support use.

Given your aversion for 'industrial-like' supports, I suppose that Virtù's style does not please you for the moment. Well, I'm not entirely satisfied by the Stengel Dive's supports. Gonna try different solutions.

I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks !

The Surprise.

Re: portemine's creations

Virtù is postponed to this summer. I decided to start over most of the theming since the current work has major flaws such as wall textures or roads and buildings placement, preventing me from making further significant progress. And also because I think I need some extra experience and time to complete it as I have imagined given the incredible complexity of the project.
I'll keep roughly the same layout, colors and overall concept. I won't take that long given the few tricks I've already utilized so far.

Thus, for the time being, I'll focus on smaller creations and finding new architectural ideas for Virtù before implementing them during the summer holiday. I believe this is the right approach to get the best result.

Thanks to all those who followed Virtù and supported me in this project, you'll have a POV someday :)

Re: portemine's creations

Time away from a huge project is often for the best. If you stick at it you'll get frustrated and make bad design judgements/quick solutions. Coming back at it with a fresh head does wonders.

I myself have an epic project that I shelved (epic in my skills) that I haven't touched in 2 years. I need to remedy that :)

Description coming later (wanna go sleep :p )

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

Looking Good! Interesting first drop though. Swarm inspired?

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

I think most people had been using that element before Swarm. Just now that element is known as Swarm-ness because Thorpe probably copy-righted it, the dicks.

Strange, tonight I built an Inverter myself. Was going to be a Junior Inverter (lol) with a 45ft max height. Then it turned into a miniature standard Inverter Coaster.

Looks very open so far.

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

It's very much different from both Swarm and the older versions of this element. It's a complete barrel roll followed by a steep twisting drop. I'm most excited about your theming though because that's what I always look forward to with your works portemine.

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

I'm pretty surprised no one mentioned the peeps lost around the coaster :p
Derek got it right, it's absolutely not Swarm inspired... it's waaay more intense ! (up to 4.7G)

Actually, the first part is very much like Hulk but with an Inverted ! Slanted launch, into a "zero-g", first drop, cobra roll and vertical loop.
The second half have some similarities with Nemesis. Close to the ground and still very intense. It has a 450° helix immediately followed by a full-speed barrel roll.

As always, I'm always looking for CSOs and new techniques. It actually slows massively my progression since I don't know what to do first, next. I'm reaching a deadlock in my creative process. :s

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

I didn't mention the peeps because I assumed that's how you did supports or something.
Like hide stuff and do it that way.

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

A couple comments. I see the Hulk inspiration (even green) but why did you go with the small loop? Is it so that you could have it end at a higher elevation? In that case, I would have gone for half large loop/half loop (the smaller one). And I guess I was fooled by the shadows into thinking the peeps were walking on a path, lol.

^Haha, that wouldn't get rid of paths though but it does look like you might have just turned off supports. Would be sure but can't tell if the path supports are CS or in-game. Could have used support killer, but I personally have gotten sick of using it so if it's a single coaster (or a woodie is involved) I just turn off supports :p

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

Nope I used the Supports killer from JCat's Steelworx. The paths are just here for experiment, I'm gonna replace them with invisible paths soon.

Re: portemine's creations - Rapace (B&M Inverted) - page 4

Where do you come up with these names? Haha. Can't wait to see more!

QFT

They're so....

Abstract?

Re: portemine's creations - Ozymandias (B&M Inverted) - 03/0

Is this an Arabic themed coaster I see before me? :D

Re: portemine's creations - Ozymandias (B&M Inverted) - 03/0

@ Derek and BBH : I use some kind of randomizer to get such names I guess ^^

On a more serious note, Ozymandias is one of the names of Ramses II. This answers scw55's question therefore, as it reveals that... I'm coming back with an Egyptian-themed invert' :D

Looks brilliant so far - realistic, exciting and great use of CS. This further asserts your your position as one of the best rct3 creator among CF members! Keep it up!

Will you be adding to the desert? It seems a bit featureless at the moment..could you add a few trees maybe?

Re: portemine's creations - Ozymandias (B&M Inverted) - 03/0

^ Defeats the purpose of a desert though :p
