Somewhat OT : that talk of Phantasialand's monorail got me off on a search last night as I could not remember it at all and I visited in 2006 when it must have been still there. 
Anyway found a YT video of it which did not bring back any memories at all - video would have predated my visit as Mamba is under construction in it (so 2005).
The view from the monorail also gives out loads of shabby-backstage views ; very not-in-keeping with modern Phantasialand!
