Also appears a section of wall at the top of the site has been marked for demolition with either Eingang or Ausgang written on it (German for entrance / exit - which is difficult to tell since the first letters are obscured). This is near the Talocan viewing platform.

So still none the wiser as to what is actually happening here...

New rockwork structures along both sides of the main midway through Africa

Metal poles installed along the Mamba station roof construction site - some containers have also been placed on site (pictures from last week)

More recently a tower has gone vertical on the site

Over by the other mystery project around the Mamba lifthill building where a small terrace has been created - the never used walkways under the first drop, between it & Hotel Matamba have had a massive thatched roof built over them.
Presumably to shield guests from Mamba’s first drop & the weather when passing between whatever the new space will be & hotel.

Less than a fortnight unless the season begins, whatever they're doing, I hope Deep in Africa doesn't look like a construction site come opening. Very curious as to what on earth is going on, though.

RideOnBlog shared a lot of pictures on their website about all new improvements for the 2023 season.

I see some amazing changes: upgrades through the whole Berlin area, Deep in Africa and Mexiko. Plus, the toilets in Mexiko received a complete overhaul with some beautiful, detailed theming. There are more upgrades, which you can see on the pictures on the website.

What they're doing with DiA is insane and the size of this refurbishment/expansion is unexpected imo. It looks like they're expanding the village. There are some new buildings and the existed buildings received new theming and a new layer of paint. I suppose the expansion will include a new pathway to make DiA a full circle and a new 'attraction' or 'experience'. Very intrigued to see how this develops.

Will this likely mean that Black Mamba won't be running or should these works not effect this?

Due to go in early May and hoping it's all running for then 🙏

Mamba is running as normal. Adventure Trail has been opening late to allow some works to continue in the morning.

Mamba's queue line has also received some new detailed theming. The African Dancers show in the area has also returned for the first time since covid.

Berlin's new theming items include at the entrance of the Wintergarten theatre a spotlight, film reel cases and crates - which have come from the station of Hollywood Tour (it lives on! kinda)

The park facing side of the Berlin park entrance has been themed up too along with theming and staff infrastructure improvements to the kids flat rides beside it too.

So they've been busy and continue to be in Africa with this supposed new pathway, buildings and of course whatever is happening inside the lifthill building remains a total mystery.

Went through the adventure trail for the first time today. Fantastic, what a great little attraction.

Talocan closed sadly, seems to be something major. Also not that anyone cares anymore but Rookburgh is (almost completely) flawless, and I found F.L.Y is tame but an enjoyable coaster. Excited to try the front row tomorrow.

In general the changes to the park look fantastic, just a shame about ride availability today.

The last two days have had a lot of downtime. Taron down for an hour today and F.L.Y on and off all day yesterday.. 🙃

Front row F.L.Y today made it all worth it though 🤤🙏🏻

Over in Rookburgh there's also some work underway - apparently will be a new opening and system to bring trains out is being built. Rather than the previous method of using the hatch and skylight through Bar 1919 as to not impede hotel operations if anything needs taken out mid-season. Could be off the back of a mid season closure FLY and then eventually the hotel too had last November for some maintenance supposedly involving the trains.

Over in Africa the new path from the Talocan viewing area to the Adventure Trail exit continues to progress. Here you can see how it winds along avoiding the various vents (and the access hatch for trains to be craned out) on the Mamba station & maintenance bay roof. One fake building hiding a vent is already standing on the right

View from the other end - on the right here a new building is being made out of disguised containers. The Sandwich Bar in Rookburgh was built in a similar fashion so presumably this too will be a new Food Outlet of some kind.

Spent the day at the park yesterday. The work in DiA seems to be a new path connecting the end of the new adventure trail with the rest of DiA. The trail currently ends in the middle of nowhere so you have to go to the Berlin area. The new adventure trail is really cute by the way.

IMG_4034.jpeg

The small square / garden behind Mystery Castle is also closed.

IMG_4065.jpeg

Hollywood Tour is still closed for good. Crazy Bats was closed in the afternoon, too. I don't know why though. Perhaps the queue closes early, but more than one hour early?

IMG_4097.jpeg

Several rides had their issues during the day:

- River Quest was closed for some hours
- Talocan only worked without fire effects and had several rides without riders
- Chiapas was closed the whole day
- FLY was closed for more than an hour, too
- Tikal, the Mini-Drop-Tower, was closed for some time
- Wakobato and the boats on the lake were closed because they don't operate on Sundays

Sorry for the pictures on the side. Perhaps the admins can be so nice to turn them. Seems to be an issue with my browser.

It's always sad to see a ride at a theme park close, especially one with a long history like Hollywood Tour at Phantasialand. From the information you've provided, it sounds like the ride suffered significant water damage in its show building, which led to its closure in the middle of the pandemic.

While Phantasialand initially indicated that Hollywood Tour was closed for maintenance and might reopen in the future, the fact that they've now removed all references to the ride from their website seems to suggest that it won't be coming back. Given the circumstances, it's understandable that the park might not have wanted to invest in the expensive repairs that would be required to get the ride back up and running, especially with the challenges of the pandemic.
