Paultons Park Velociraptor Evacuation non story

Roller Poster
The press seem to be publishing more rollercoaster scaremongering, this time it's Paultons park in the spotlight. Daily fail published this "Rollercoaster passengers are trapped 45ft in the air for 40 minutes after ride breaks down just one week after opening", while the sun said"Passengers stuck on new £9million rollercoaster after it broke down 45ft in the air". Spot the mistakes and inaccuracies!

Some great eyewitness quotes they have found:
"One witness said teenage boys at the front of the cart were shouting that they 'wanted to get down.'"
"Most people stayed calm. I was near them when they came down and they were fine about it."

Think we should make it CF policy to not give these stories any airtime (excuse the pun). These **** tabloids pick up more hits based on article shares, so they'll only continue knowing there's a demand for it.

Perhaps a topic dedicated to "Ride Stops Safely Due to Safety Measures" Topic where this could be collated?

On another note Facebook tells me I know someone who was stuck on the ride. She said she went through 'trauma', guessing they did not speak to her for a quote!

Nah I want them to - it's hilarious. Bring them on I say.

Wow, some of these stories are actually unreal. It's incredible that people don't understand that this will occasionally happen on coasters, and it's perfectly safe and not putting them in any danger if it is stopped. It's like if newspapers started running front page stories every time a car breaks down.

By clicking the links, reading the articles and discussing them in forums like this, all we're really doing is giving the media more hits and more cause to bother writing these articles in the first place.

Ignore them and they'll eventually go away, or at least become less common.

Did that Boomerang really cost £9 million? Bloody hell that's expensive for a kids ride!

Anyway quality journalism as usual from The Mirror! You can just tell that any news outlet that has "#news" on every picture will be extremely sophisticated and cater towards the more intelligent and educated members of our society.

Nah the whole area cost £9mil including all the rides.

Just one example of how this is wrong.

My thoughts to the family and friends of the victims during this difficult time.

Velociraptor? More like Veloci-TRAP-tor... As in DEATH TRAP!!

Am I right?!!

I'm developing PTSD just hearing about the incident, let alone actually being stuck 500ft high or whatever it was.

You should join the CF Facebook page, pun central

Yeah. This is such a non-story - but some responses are brilliant.

I didn't bother commenting or "promoting" this news on CF social media because it's not news. Similar to the Air breakdown a few weeks ago.

What I am interested in though is how many news reports about standard coaster technical issues were reported pre-Smiler crash compared to now. Talking of which, we're closing in on the anniversary of that tragic day when Vicky, Leah and Joe were propelled to stardom.
