Paultons Park | Tornado Springs | New Area | 2021

Visited the park yesterday for their late night (well to 7:30) halloween event.

I only had my phone to take a few pictures, so they're not the best.

Storm Chaser is much bigger than I was expecting, from the car park (which I didn't take a picture of) it looks huge. I haven't looked at it's stats but I assume it must be taller than Cobra and FoTP.

Wave Runner/Buffalo Falls looks good with the theming although my daughter told me she couldn't see any difference ?

The drop towers are tiny, much smaller than I'd thought.

While the coaster is done (and the station looks nearly done) there is clearly still a lot of work still to be done on the area. I could be wrong (and obviously it just flooded from rainfall at the moment but it looks like the low to ground turn could be over water.

The diner/gift shop building looks mostly done. The toilet block and play park look done.

It seems like their main focus now is on the driving school and Cyclonator will probably be the last thing.

Coaster looks huge! Loving the colours too. I think this is big enough to definitely seem like a grown-up ride to Paultons demographic.

Yeah, I went back to look at the concept art to see if it showed water on there and it doesn't.

The land under that part of the coaster is lower though and on the side closest to where the train will run it was that metal retaining wall (other side is sloped). They are also laying some kind of membrane down in the bottom. Doesn't prove anything, but my first thought looking at it was that it looked like a pond.

As you say though, that's not what it looks like on the concept art.

What amuses me is seeing Paultons absolutely blowing Merlin out of the water next year. They have a fully fledged whole new area, with a brand new coaster + various other rides. Merlin are bringing to the table across their 4 theme parks; a child's coaster, and a variety of re-themed, or re-painted rides and filler attractions.

They are going from strength to strength and in my opinion have over-taken the likes of Legoland and Chessington in the terms of their ride offering, and miles ahead on customer experience.

I think this will be a huge success for them, and hitting that family demographic perfectly. There is something for everyone, thrills, fun for the little ones and also an inclusive playground, which is lovely to see.

I really hope Paultons do well with this area, someone needs to take a dent in Merlin’s monopoly, especially in the South

Wave runner has not yet finished being themed, the park just wanted to get it open for the rest of the 2019 season. The theming work will continue over the closed season to create buffalo falls. For example the slides will likely no longer be blue for when tornado springs opens, more likely brown to fit the overall theme.

Looks fantastic and just shows how much PP care about the attractions they install and the overall area. This area is going to be game changing for the parkand for the UK theme park industry - especially in the south.

Looks fantastic and just proves that Paultons really do care about everything they do. They really believe this is a real 1950’s town and want you to be immersed - even from the top of Buffalo Falls
