Paultons Park - Next Investment a Thrill Coaster?

As others have said - I think Paulton's need a proper water ride of some description. A log flume or rapids could work very well I think. Come to think of it a rapids could work pretty well in the new Lost Kingdom area too!

As for coasters - I could maybe see something like Jet Rescue or Juvelen fitting really well.

(Insert The Mandatory Joke here - you know the one)

Anyway, branching off the woodie or water ride idea, what about a small launched coaster? Something like a Motorbike or a family launched ride could be kiddie friendly enough while retaining a modest height, yet still offer some thrills. They could go all the way up to a Rita-esque ride while still being kid friendly, as long as it doesn't invert or go high off the ground, it shouldn't scare away anybody.

They really really really need a decent themed water ride in the park, as the rest of the park looks so good and then there is a travelling log flume looking so out of place now! Not the parks fault they've just gentrified the rest of the park and it sticks out.

^ Well, now that you've told a ride op, I can imagine we'll see construction very soon.

^ ^ To put it as mildly as I think is possible on this site: That's not quite how the decision process goes when parks acquire new coasters. "Input from guests to ride ops" rank slightly below "Consulting an oracle" in terms of priorities.

Whilst we're taking about a potential thrill coaster coming to Paultons. On Sunday I was at Kolmarden filming and alike on Wildfire, whilst being shown around by a guy from RMC. He told us that during the week just gone he'd shown around a team from a park in the U.K. and mentioned that it was the home of Peppa Pig World. They were looking at RMC and Wildfire. Take it how you will, but I just thought I'd mention it.

Why on earth would you prefer a GCI over and RMC!!!

because I think GCI would be a better fit for Paultons at the moment

That just means they're seeing what other people are doing, and wanted to ride Wildfire.

It's probably nothing more than research - they could have easily been looking at the zoo.

Paultons are absolutely not getting an RMC.

Because they wanted free tickets and to check out the park and went 'from Paultons', it literally means NOTHING.

Way out of left field here, but instead, what if they built like a Zierer Tower Coaster or maybe a ESC? I mean, they're easy to theme, for the family market, and get pretty good reviews.

Yeah, I think that really is way out of left field. I'm pretty sure they'll go for wood for their next coaster, something along the lines of Roar-o-Saurs, Gravity Group friendly woodie imo.

^ I hope not. I haven't been to Paulton's, but one thing that UK parks just can't/won't do well are dark rides. Apart from Valhalla, and Duel I guess, they're all total crap. Decent dark rides cost the same as, or often more than, decent coasters. UK parks won't spend that money, so they shouldn't bother with the half-arsed attempts; they'd be throwing money away on something which nobody will like.

Well, it all depends on who they use to make it.

Triotec and Sally are pretty good.

Not really, no. It's all about the experience, theming, and how well it flows. The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, often regarded as one of the greatest dark rides of all time, was built by a company you probably never heard of- Oceaneering International- a company that specializes in Marine Engineering. Tower of Terror was built by Otis Elevator Company. Yes, I know TOT is an elevator-type ride, but my point is that a company that specializes in Elevators does not usually make dark rides. Paultons did do quite well with theming with their Dinosaur world, but it's nowhere near any world-class dark ride. Like said many times before, a Gravity Group woodie would work wonderfully.
