Overly trimmed Coasters

Wasn't Ring Racer trimmed directly after the launch in it's 4 days of operation? I remember a bunch of magnets at the end of the launch that clearly slowed the train down.

Why has nobody mentioned Kanonen? It bloody launches into trims. 0-60 then 60-20 in 4 seconds.

It does launch into trims. No idea on the figures though.

The only coaster that comes to mind on overly trimmed is Ring Racer. That **** launches and trims right after the launch giving the fast launch no significance to being that fast.

^ Yeah but to be fair, if it wasn't trimmed everyone would die going into the turn and/or the trains would derail. So it's not really trimmed so much to ruin the experience, just shockingly designed.

Another vote here for Silver Star.
I was a newbie when I rode it, 2004 I think, first B&M hyper etc.. and even back then I noticed the trims. I distinctly remember thinking; 'Not bad, but woulda been better without all those brakes'.

Honourable mention to the MCBR on Alpengeist. Thing darn near brings the train to a standstill.
Such a weird coaster, first half too fast, second half too slow.

Most coasters are over-trimmed, its so annoying losing all that speed n not get any "airtime" on the following hills

The Beast at KI was badly trimmed (when I rode it back in 2000) during the day along the straight brake run section, at night the trims were turned off and it was amazing full speed.

^ Don't worry, those trims are still in place. Kings Island has even upgraded the "brake shed" straight away trims and drop into the double helix finale to magnetic brakes over the years.

KI should do away with the Brake Shed & install a couple of airtime hills instead then head into the tunnel. Seems a waste of wood to have such a long brake shed.
