Hey All

Not a massive story but as always in the spirit of completeness I shall update this thread when i hear more :)

Tianjin Water Park in China is the latest park to receive a Rip-Off Chinese SLC. Looks like its a completely new park too.

As i said. Nothing major. but worth noting :)

Are those rails gonna be traditional Vekoma style or have the wheels on the outside. Lord.. my terminology went out the window.. but yeah.

Oh this is a different one-- I knew there were a few more of these inverts going up, but I hadn't heard about this one yet. I'd hazard a guess to say it'll have the same layout as the other ripoff SLCs like you find at Beijing Shijingshan.. either that or the ripoff of the Happy Valley / Kumali SLC layouts. Whatever the layout, it can't be good if it's one of those companies...

^No. Beijing Shiboalai started making them. This new coaster has the same stats as the one at Beijing Shijingshan, so it seems most likely that it's from them. It's not really fair to call those a rip off, as the layout is unique to the company, although they do resemble Vekoma in track/train design.

The Happy Valley/Kumali design has been copied by Golden Horse. I'd say that's more of a rip off, as the whole thing has been copied directly.

And how many of "those companies" coasters have you ridden? The Golden Horse spinners ride exactly like the coasters they're copied from, and the Shiboalai SLCs and loopers ride like a Vekoma or Arrow. That's not to say they're any good obviously, but certainly no worse than the company they've imitated.

^ Oh you're the first I've heard that from. I've only ever heard very negative things and looking at the shaping of some of those corners I always wondered how smooth they were. But that's good to hear it's not any worst than the regular ones.

^Fair enough, but there's only one other source those reviews have come from, and I've learned to trust my own opinions on the "SLC RIPOFF!!!!" than those of someone who was too fat for the restraints to even ride it.

[No doubt that's true, although my reviews were not from him. -CP6]

Hey
Pics i have found are through various stages of construction

But the ride looks almost complete now.

Is the ride really painted solid orange? I have to say, that is pretty ugly.
For some reason they seem to build these rides and then paint them. one of the other chinese SLC's was built all Orange and then painted green. (Infact if you look closely at the above picture it looks like some of the supports at the top are being painted)

Honestly, that looks more painful than a normal SLC. I wish there was a better picture of the layout. It's fairly interesting looking.

^ It does look like an RCT ride, like they designed it on there... just look at that straight part right after the drop on the right hand side of the pic.

The banking, the random man underneath the track for no apparent reason, the ride ops crossing tracks while the train is moving... all of these scream 'Death' to me...
