New attractions at Paultons Park

Would it not make more sense to start from the old log flume and go across the site or will it be too wide for the space left from the new building to Lost kingdom. its does look a narrow layout for the Freizeitpark water coaster

Have added the new support locations roughly. (Purple)

So now i completely go against what i said before and i dont think whatever is coming here will be contained within the black border as it looks like we have fountains leading outside it.

Great to see a load of markers round this site.

Im happy if its a water coaster, as hopefully the cobra area ride will be the stand out. The UKs first water coaster would be great and give them a fantastic coaster collection, but 9 coasters......9!! That seems crazy, it would be cool but i never ever would have thought back in the day they would get that many.

New updated from UK Theme Parks, work continuing on the large building in the Vikings area, more footers for the 2026 coaster and even footer cages for the 2027 coaster.

Just wondering, was it confirmed that both projects are staggered?

I'm assuming it's all 2026 until the park states otherwise (on Saturday most likely)

Always thought the Freizeitpark Plohn Mack Launched Water Coaster would fit nicely at Paultons... Very oddly looks like it would fit on the Go-Karts site...

Totally agree, this seems to fit into Paultons and the Go Karts site well.

The Go Karts site would also fit in a clone of Viking Voyage at Emerald Park too.

In a staff meeting, staff were told the go carts area would be transformed for 2027 and the area around cobra for 2026 including a UK first flat ride and a 1.2m roller coaster.

We were at the park today. There is a pile drilling machine in the area by Cobra's first helix.

The more interesting bit was the conversation I had with a member of staff. The big thing this year is the race to be the first Gameplay Theatre to open (between Ghostly Manor and the Europa Park one - obviously we expect Europa to win as it's Mack).

HOWEVER - next year - definitely a ride with an inversion. Also - another race to be the first to get a type of ride. The competitor is potentially a European park. We asked if it was another park in the UK, and they said Europe - so keep an eye on what's coming in Europe for 2026, and this may lead to what's coming to Paultons.
Could this be the Water Coaster for 2026?

A water coaster does seem likely and it would be a great fit for Paultons. A step up in capacity, and super popular with families, it would definitely be a hit. Wasn;t a picture of a water coaster shown on some document ages ago too?

Only thing that makes me second guess is, if it were a water coaster in the spot next to Cobra, would we not be seeing more digging down in areas to create troughs or a splash down area or something? Unless that’s to come later, possibly in the area where the footers seem to stop abruptly at the dirt boundary.

Really intrigued to see what’s coming anyway. I’m kind of secretly hoping for that small scale Stryker/Big Dipper like Helios now… we can dream!

I'm not entirely convinced that citing a staff meeting is a source to be honest. There could be a few users citing this and claiming to be staff.

I'm sceptical that the staff (especially the rides team) even would be told future plans before the public (without a confidentiality agreement) are because of leaking and that it is commercially sensitive information.

I'm also not convinced that it would be the right move to get rid of Raging River without an imminent replacement. Ideally, it should've been end of 2024 for RR's closure and mid-2025 for RR's replacement. I know Alton Towers never replaced theirs but for Paultons, it was their main water ride.

A water coaster would be perfect for somewhere in the UK too. It would be incredible for families and thrillseekers alike.

I'd definitely would think Thorpe Park would pick one up at some point as that would fit in well with their target market too (in addition to the idea that a water coaster is quite novel in the UK)

I’m not convinced by the 2026 coaster being a water coaster myself. If it was, I feel like we’d have seen more channel-type construction around by Cobra, and unless they’re wanting to premiere the world’s first inverting water coaster, I also feel like Mack’s current ones wouldn’t fit the brief of 1.2m height restriction and inverting that’s been specified for the 2026 coaster.

If one comes, I could see it being that 2027 project that replaces the Go-Karts that’s been spoken about.

I agree with this. I think the work we’d be seeing would look different for a water coaster. Same for a rocking boat. And if that concrete block is the station, it doesn’t seem to match generally how water coasters move in and out of their station. They tend to have water channels in and out of the station with the track at water level. This does not appear to be that.

It wasn’t just a citation but also a picture of the slide from a presentation that was shown during the staff meeting. Source Adrenaline Nation on discord.

The go cart site looks more promising for a water coaster as they’ve put hardcore down over at least half of the site at the moment. Which is common practice before laying a large concrete pad (splash pad).

Would it not help costs to start the water coaster from the old log flume site where there are already existing water connections. No idea what sort of layout they could have with the other coaster going in near cobra. But on the slide you have linked the old log flume site is included in the yellow 2026 area.

Also Paultons Hoot put this post on Instagram 10 weeks ago, that they had painted the old raging river pit.

In fairness I dont think anyone here is suggesting that the 2026 addition by Cobra is a water coaster / Rocking boat. All water coaster discussion, as far as I'm aware, is regarding the 2027 go karts site.

I'm slightly sceptical of that post to be honest, I'm sure we'll know more in about 36 hours time or so.

What is everyone thinking about flat rides?

We’ve discussed coaster options a lot, with Intamin hot racer, Geurstlauer infinity or Mack big dipper being favourites for the 2026 coaster.

What flat rides would you like to see accompany the coaster for 2026?

For me a Zamperla Big Wavez which could reuse the old raging river basin and a Geurstlauer Sky fly/roller. Both could be easily themed to Norse gods.

I hope it’s not entirely true, a 1.2m height restriction does limit coaster options and intensity. I do not think could handle having an extreme/thrill marquee coaster, expanding their audience into more teens/adults. I would be sad if it was a family thrill.

Also footer work has started over at the go carts which is rather early if it’s expected to open for 2027.

I was actually thinking of a Zamperla Big WaveZ, funnily enough! It would fit into the area inhabited by Raging River, could reuse the basin (explaining why it was repainted, potentially), and would also fill the water ride void left by Raging River (somewhat) while awaiting a (rumoured) water coaster or other large water ride in 2027! Paultons also have a strong pre-existing relationship with Zamperla on the flat ride front having built both Cyclonator and The Edge, and it would fit the criterion of being a UK first!

I wouldn’t rule out the Go-Karts replacement being for 2027 even though work has already started. If it is a Mack water coaster as suggested, that won’t be an insignificant project, and it’s also worth remembering that they started building Farmyard Flyer before phase 1 of Tornado Springs opened despite that being a relatively small family coaster.

I also wouldn’t be concerned about intensity level with a 1.2m height restriction. This is the age of accessible thrills, where the options for a 1.2m height restriction coaster are arguably wider than ever! 1.4m height restrictions are a bit of a thing of the past, really, and a lot of really thrilling coasters can allow kids of 1.2m or smaller now! I would maybe temper your expectations a tad if you’re hoping for something along the lines of, say, VelociCoaster intensity-wise, as that is a 1.3m height restriction and also seems vastly out of step with anything else Paultons has as yet built, but I do think a more mid-sized starter thrill coaster type like an Intamin Hot Racer is very plausible! I’m predicting a Hot Racer, and if something like Mahuka did come to Paultons, I’d be very happy!
