New attractions at Paultons Park

Fantastic news, not only is a dark ride one of the things on my wish list for Paultons it looks like its down their main street taking over what was the 4d cinema building so this is separate from whatever they have planned for the Cobra area.

Cannot wait to see what exactly we are getting in this space.

Very exciting. Love that they've kept it quiet too. Hopefully it is a proper Dark Ride but seems odd nothing was spotted during the Christmas season.

Saw this today too. Definitely something going on. Also over by Edge they have a stack of metal fencing near the portacabins. I think they’re about to get busy on something over that way

We were here on Dec 16 and there was nothing going on there. That’s where the grotto entrance was

What a coup it would be if they had a trackless Dark Ride, though i'm probably getting carried away. Never actually went in the old 4D cinema so no idea of the space they're working with. Theoretically they are easier/faster to build than their tracked equivalents?

Hope it's not a 3D glasses number either way.

So from the image linked at the top it looks like its the building that connects to the old 4d cinema, looks like most of the building apart from this little end piece.

Now this is a big if, as I'm not sure what will be used but just going on what outside parts are being worked on, and assuming that the insides to the the back of the building would be used, and it goes all the way from this bit of façade to the 4d cinema entrance at the end. Its around a 760 m² of space. If the whole building was to be used even bigger.

If this is a dark ride its great to have it right at the entrance, this little main street area was looking a bit old last time I went so hopefully this will give it a spruce up.

Definitely looks to be an interactive attraction with guns - the first picture of the link that OP linked to definitely has a gun graphic in it.

Personally I would have preferred a more traditional dark ride with no guns but given the demographic that Paultons is appealing to it’ll undoubtedly be a good addition to their lineup.

"Spectre Apprehension In Operation"

Interactive / shooting dark ride with a ghostbusters like theme?

If it turns out to be something like a modern ETF trackless, then I don't think it is a bad fit for the park at all. Would make a nice addition, and with other (UK) parks ripping them out or losing interest in maintaining them, could end up being quite unique for them.

Testing for Splash Lagoon is underway.

Work continues on Grand Central restaurant.

From this video I cannot see anything happening in the areas Paulton's have planning for but they defiantly are setting up behind Edge.

And finally I saw that a planning application has been put in for a 30m telecommunications tower in the car park.

Splash Lagoon is coming along well, 18th of May will be the opening.

Ad for the ride:

Also the Grande Central restaurant is now open.

Finally while I cannot see anything really happening in the surveyed area something is still going on behind edge.

Edit: Also just looked on their planning applications and they have been granted permission to build that 30m telecommunications tower in the car park, there are a few conditions but nothing to bad so you should get great phone signal in the future.

We were there last week. They have marked a lot of things out on the ground over that side of the park behind the hedge near Cobra (underground ducts, sewer pipes etc). Wouldn’t be surprised if they start something in the near future.

Splash Lagoon looks really good 😊 it really complements Raging River like how River Rafts does with Tiger Rock. I can certainly see Raging River getting an upgrade in the coming years (like Viking Voyage at Emerald Park).

I look forward to seeing more in the future including the long awaited dark ride. 🤩

An update on the attraction, I've been wondering how this was coming along, from video below it looks like they have extended work now to the end of the streets facade.

Work has also started on the outer side as well so I'm guessing this whole area/street will be rethemed.

Here is a look at the old 4D entrance.

Really excited for what ever they have coming as with how good their theming has been for recent builds, I wonder how well they can do a dark ride.

This is awesome, especially as this is the part of the park that looks the worst (oldest, 'old Paultons', poor theming etc), and it will be great to see it replaced with something that matches the standards 'new Paultons' has been setting.
If it is the UK's second trackless dark ride too, that would be great but any dark ride is a bonus.
