Creds coming up…
Mandalay
I booked a minibus to get up to the final place on the trip, Mandalay. It took about 5 hours, but had a couple of piss breaks and was comfortable enough. It was also door-to-door between both hotels. There were regular flight options, but the airport at Mandalay is quite a way out, so by the time you take into account travelling to and from airports, plus the airport faff, it made more sense just to get picked up and dropped off directly. It only cost US$8 as well.
I checked into the hotel and headed to a nearby park for creds after wasting those last three days on culture. I walked so I could get a bit of a feel for the place – it’s a s**thole to be fair - taking about half an hour.
City Park
This will be the right place then…
Finally, a cred:
The second one was a Chinese dragon thing. I’m assuming Chinese anyway since I’ve seen a bunch of these before.
I didn’t do the ghost train – I really should start doing these really – or the log flume.
The ferris wheel wasn’t running. The big patch of dirt is going to be a waterpark based on some slide pieces I saw lying around.
I almost wet myself with excitement when I spotted this unlisted coaster:
Then actually did wet myself with disappointment when I realised it wasn’t finished yet.
It’s a Changlong Small Coaster. I’ve done two of them before, and they’re f**king vile, but a cred’s a cred.
From there, I looked at the gross river across the street and walked back to my hotel.
See, that was worth waiting for through all that temple bollocks, wasn’t it?
More Mandalay, including a park, in the next bit.
