Mountain Flyer - GCI Woodie for Knight Valley, Shenzhen

Yep Jerry it's these silly train mounted cameras, once a proper pov is done will be able to tell more.

I love the layout and the corners etc it does look great.

Even POV's don't give the true feel of how the ride will ride. I see many things in common with Evel Kinevel and Prowler.. the best two GCI's I've been on. Every single hump or turn.. or anything.. I can really see how it should feel.. and hopefully will feel.

Of course, not every coaster is the same.. but the newer GCI's tend to be much better then the older ones.. so we shall see.

Rollermonkey said in another topic that he's not going to Knight Valley this year becasue:

'It sounds like the woodie was turned over to the park months ago, but there is some kind of hang up with the government.'

Has anyone heard anything about this (and errr will it be sorted by November?)

^I think I heard somewhere the government we're burning it down.

Yeah, it is just sitting there doing bugger all at the moment.

No-one knows when it is meant to open...

Elissa Alvey "heard maybe sometime this month"... But, yeah.

And GCI aren't being very useful either.

Bit **** myself, won't lie. But, since I'm gonna be moving over to that part of the World fairly soon anyway, meh.

They are going to take it apart and give portions of it to every other Chinese park because one park can't have something extremely amazing while every other park has some good. Redistribution of wealth ****.

This is why SFMM should have built something similar to this instead of Psyclone 2, granted it wouldn't work in 3 years, but at least it would open. (only park I could think of with mountainous terrain at the moment)

We're in Shenzhen right now. Contacts within GCI and OCT confirm the ride is not open yet. Testing was complete a while ago. I don't know what the hold up is. Maybe the rest of the park isn't ready?

^There was a trip report by a guy a month or so ago of the park, and it was all done. Even the queue line, signage etc is ALL up. So God knows why it's spiting STILL...

Although, NO sign of the X Cars in that trip report whatsoever...

^I was hoping it would be open for your trip, so you could tell us all about it. However, since you basically drove past my house on a CRED run this weekend and didn't tell me, this now pleases me.

<3

^Babes, I'll be living a few hours from it soon enough. Even if it SPITES us this summer, I'll be riding it soon enough ;)

Interesting topic here, had no clue this wasn't open yet. Someone needs to fly over and just pull this ride, plus the mountain its on, back here to the US somewhere where it can be utilized.

Maybe it has not been inspected To get a licence to operate the ride yet ?
Maybe it has not been commissioned yet just tested

I'm sure it's to do with Chinese red tape. In my experience you have to have things signed in triplicate, backwards. It's up there with Russia and Canada's customs
