It's a busy day for China. Hot on the heels of their newly announced 4D coaster, we have this...

GCI (Great Coasters International) have announced their biggest project yet at Knight Valley, Shenzen, China.

The wooden coaster features a triple-down first drop and is the largest CGI coaster project to date. The stats?

Height: 147.0
Drop: 131.2
Top Speed: 61.2
Length: 4,817

Featuring two Millennium Flyer trains

"Great Coasters is proud to bring China its tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster! Built on the side of a large mountain, this new ride features an exciting triple-down first drop, station fly-through, station fly-by, and 80° of banking amidst the through-the-trees twisting layout. We are proud to partner with OCT on our biggest creation to date!"

^Not just a new coaster, but a whole new park then? OCT is the same company that owns the Happy Valley parks, so it seems strange that they would open another park in the same city (Shenzhen).

Anyway, this means two, high-profile coasters for Shenzhen next year then: this woodie and the S&S launch coaster for Happy Valley.

Double post, but just thought I'd share the pictures I found on GCI's website:

Isn't that first drop just lovely...

Though, this immediately reminded me of that RCT2 park where you had to stay lower than five metres off the ground... or something I made in RCT3 once.

Should be fun to ride, though. And they're saving money on wood*, as well as the proximity to the trees would be awesome. In short, this looks like Boulder Dash. No further comments needed.

*Note: They will spend more than they saved on preparing and constructing in the hillside.

^ Yeah, I LOVE how the drop just flows down the hill like that. I'm assuming it will be surrounded by trees as well, which will make it amazing: kind of like a woodie Eagle's Fortress in some ways.

Looks like Fireball have thrown China into a Wooden coaster craze. Reports states that Fireball is running at capacity with long lines, where as the rest of the coasters in the park are walk-ons and only run with a single train. GG already have a new contract for an even bigger coaster than Fireball and now GCI have been added to the mix.

China is really stepping up to be the big thing for coaster enthusiasts, and with their big nationwide high speed rail network that is going to be completed over the next few year, it's also going to be a lot easier to get around...

NICE! It looks so different with that first drop and everything, and I expect the sensation of speed will be incredible with the surroundings.

Shame this wasn't closer to me.

IT's like alton's dream coming true! but in china!!

I was thinking the same thing.

This does look incredible. I love how it's low to the ground, yet the elevatio changes are still quite high. Let's just hope there will be a lot of trees and foliage to increase the feeling of speed.

Looks amazing, I'm so glad GCI is finally building a huge coaster like this.

Anyone have any idea how much it will cost? I couldn't find a price on their site.

Phenomenal. Awesome use of terrain to produce a fast coaster with some tremendous elements.

Son of Boulder Dash anyone?

^ Well the name Son of Beast isn't being utilized right now.

First drop looks cool. I'm going to assume it's going to pick up alot of speed after that drop and keep it till the end.
