Most Iconic Tv/Movie Character Ever

I woukd say anything that has attained a massive Cult Following or has been shoved into our faces in random, non TV related outlets could be considered Iconic.

There are far too many to name in all seriousness :/
 
Of our generation, the six main characters from Friends.

Is there anyone that doesn't love that?
 
^ I couldn't name you a single character from that show off the top of my head. Now I know it was very popular even though I personally didn't watch it, so maybe you are right. But I think to be considered "iconic," a character's name or likeness has to be recognizable even to people who have never seen them in a film or TV show.

For example, who hasn't at least heard of James Bond, Luke Skywalker, or Harry Potter? They are iconic without a doubt.
 
People seem to be forgetting the actual definition of an iconic character...
