I got the "not enough people are voting" email.

Stop being douches and vote. These are the closest thing to accurate general coaster polls we have, lets make it worth our whiles!

It IS that time consuming if you've got a higher coaster count. The wooden one took over an hour even with the drop box thing (which itself is a pain in the arse when trying to order a larger number of selected rides), and there were FAR fewer coasters to deal with on there.

I see the issue: people with higher coaster counts are the ones who really should be voting to get a better result, but those people are less inclined to do it due to it being too big a task to organise huge numbers of coasters.

Frankly, I don't really give enough of a ****. Sorry about it.

Having said that, I've got half days at work next week. I'll see how I feel, but it's far from a priority.
 
A tactic I simply use is to copy my ballot directly from the posted ballots list, and add in new roller coasters.

Just keyword search for your name. (This is why I always include Hyde244 in my naming for easy finding)

I always try to save my previous years ballot in excel form, but inevitably always misplace it on my hard drive.
 
^Can't tell you how many ballots I've seen do that, then forget to update the parks and coasters which names change and delete the rides that have been removed. Ends up with dozens of coasters disappearing from the ballot.

And I 100% agree with Gavin: The last poll I did took me like two days to get completely sorted out. Blech.
 
^^ I use that method with a bit of global search/replace as well (Notepad++ rather than Excel tho').
^ but I also check the lists in the ballot that say what has been removed or changed (hope I've caught them all)
then I add in whatever new I've ridden that year and update anything I've reridden with my latest feelings (GAdv.Nitro this year leapt up my rankings)

Took me about 1.5 hrs this year and is hardly a chore since thats 1.5 hrs just thinking about nice roller coasters I've been on. </goon>
 
^ Good point - I too did some search and replace function in my excel ballot this year.

To take it to the next level of goon, I have even gone as far as to create an Access database for tracking ridership this year, which with any luck will be able to produce a ballot within 1 click for next year.

^ I join you in the high praise for B&M Hypers. Only ridden 2, but both are in my top 10 as well.
 
I've submitted mine! My top ride was Nemesis, and the bottom was Infusion - nothing surprising really.

^^ I notice G Force is your second bottom. That's a shame, it looks like an intriguing ride to me. I will probably ride it later this year.

G Force would be a good ride if the restraints didn't try to cut your body in half as you go around.

This year was the first in many that I didn't take part in this poll. When going through my coaster list, I just find it really labourious trying to figure out which rides fit in the "Your favourite x" categories, and I just couldn't be bothered to do it this year.
 
Maybe not bottom ten, but I'm not a huge fan. It just doesn't do very much. Without the music it would be even worse. Sorry Jordan
 
lol, I live pretty much across the street from USF... and I haven't ridden Rockit since 2010. Its so awful... the trains and lapbar are awful (as seen by G-Force also being in my bottom....) the ride is horrifyingly rough, and the music adds NOTHING. Its not like they cut and paste the songs to fit the ride... and then it just cuts off at the end, if you pick DaftPunk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger the ride ends before you even get to the Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger part (the whole ride is pretty much the intro)
 
FWIW, I had RRR at number 12 on my 2012 steel ballot. I thought it was a fantastic ride back in 2011.

Bizarro Number 4 just doesn't have the same ring to it...

It's incredible how well RMC have done; we talk mainly about their wooden coasters, but clearly the topper tracks aren't too bad either. Obviously there are surprises; Formula Rossa (Highest ranked Accelerator) and Smiler being ranked so highly? A lot higher than some well regarded B&Ms. And what about Space Fantasy at USJ? I hadn't even heard of it 10 minutes ago and it's come in at 52! Not suggesting that I have to have heard of a ride for it to be good...
