I hope it isn't a problem that my visit to Mega Speelstad is almost a year ago?
Mega Speelstad (Mega playcity) is a little indoor amusement park, more a playground actually, but the 2 coasters are the nearest for me, so I trie to visit this little gem every year. It is only 32 kilometers far, so me and some crazy friends went to Speelstad by bike. We have done this in 2011 and in februari 2012 we decided to do it again, although we had all the credits.
After 2.5 hours we arrive at our destination, as you can see. Speelstad had some serious extensions since I was a kid: A extra hall was added with a new entrance (see photo) and the fairytalecity now was a free part of the main park. These two changes made the park almost 3 times as big as 2.5 years ago.
The best thing about Speelstad is the free entrance that you get if you are an adult. But we did had a hard time getting in. in 2011 there wasn't a problem, since there was only the three of us. This time our group consisted 8 adults, and the cashier didn't want to let us in. So the manager/director of the park came and after he heart we where rollercoaster fans, they did let us in .
We directly went for the top coaster of the park, the first spinning coaster of Belgium, and yes, you are reading it correct!
Disco Twister!
Disco Twister is a relly weird coaster experience. It is a powered single car spinning coaster, with an (more or less) oval layout that doesn't really go op or down, but the turns are banked. It can handle 6 passengers at once, an it keeps making laps until the song the operator chooses to play is finished. And yes, I heard a story from a friend who had heard the full 8-minute lasting Paradise By the Dashboard Light in Disco Twister!
Some "theming" in the queue
This is like, half the layout. The coaster is situated in a small basement, and you can't see a thing of the ride unless you ride it. It has a horrorpuppet/flougraffiti theming and during the ride several light effects wich follows the music's beat.
The coaster car.

After 2.5 minutes you can clearly see the layout.
The biggest ride in Speelstad is the monorail, wich is energy-netural: you have to pedal yourselves in this claustrophobic boxes.
One of these Luna Loop-thingies. Fun ride where you can decide to go upside down forwards or backwards.
I remember riding this when i was like 8 years, thought it was awesome back then.
On this photo you can see maybe half the route of the monorails. When you ride this, it feels like there is no end at all.
The second coaster of Mega Speelstad is Belgiums only Butterfly, named: Butterfly. RCDB says different, but the coaster has been relocated and renamed.

Like I said before: Speelstad has a huge outdoor section to. I never seen this trainride open .
But who cares for trains when you have the JUMPING BALLOON THING JAAAJ!
Or even better: a climbmountain!
This makes us lol so hard every time. it translates to: "Yay the talking gnome" .
The fairtytale houses and part of the huge playground
Back indoors we decided to have a ride on the newest attraction, this mini- flying carpet. Like in the luna loop, you can decide what direction you go, but you can't go upside down offcourse . It is a really fun ride with some weird airtime, really a fantastic edition for such a small park. And the kids loved it to!
But then these 2 guys of our group broke it down just by there weight and it didn't opened anymore that day as far as I know.
We sure had a great day in Speelstad, They went from a small park to a huge kids paradise I would really take me kids to every month, if i ever had kids . The entrance price for kids is only 10 euro (and maybe 11 in weekends, I'm not sure) and free for adults, but you can't take your own drinks or food. The toilet indoors costs 30 cent, but the toilet outdoors is free (LOL). I hope you enjoyed the trip report, if yes feel free to say, I can make a lot more small unknown park PTR's .
