Major Changes for Disney's California Adventure

Indeed, especially considering the work they want doing!

Will probably see a slow down in work now before the bulk of the summer I would imagine. I know that the work on Orange Stinger is being held off at the moment for instance. (I can not wait to see the end of that blooming orange!)

I never thought of it like that! So yep, defo pleased I have that photo!

wow :shock: this lookis fantastic it is such an inprovment from when i went there ages ago and i want to see badly how the cars land area thing is going to turn out like

Judging by the photos over on Screamscape and from the people who were on the West Coast TPR trip, the park is a bombsite effectively. Hoarding absolutely everywhere!

The Funwheel is all done and work has continued over on what was Orange Stinger. The whole thing is down and wont be complete until 2010.

The American Dream building is all gone making way for the Little Mermaid attraction and just opposite that the hoarding is still up for new Viewing Area for the World of Colour (water fountain) show, which apparently is in the stages of having hardware installed.

The work on Cars Land has also begun. Be interesting to see the attractions that will make up Radiator Springs...

I do wonder when work is to begin on Mulholland Madness. Hopefully they will wait until at least the Silly Symphony Swings are done, or the Little Mermaid. Otherwise that whole corner is hoarding LOL.

I was at DCA last week & it does look like a bombsite. Here's some photos I took.
Mulholland Madness hasn't changed yet, obviously.

But they need to do something with this.

The Little Mermaid announcements are everywhere,
IMG_2564Small.jpg

since the construction area is so large.
IMG_2588Small.jpg

The dirt areas on both sides of the path are the Little Mermaid construction. The lower concrete area is the World of Color construction area.
IMG_2578Small.jpg

The light fixtures have quadrupled since we were here in March.
IMG_2587Small.jpg

All of which will be under water.
IMG_2591Small.jpg

All the cabling wasn't here last time either.
IMG_2593Small.jpg

Can't wait to come back when it's finished. California Screamin's launch will be awesome.
IMG_2608Small.jpg

There's still not much to see in the 'Cars' construction area,
IMG_2581Small.jpg

which is behind the 'It's a Bug's Life' area & extends from the Tower of Terror all the way over to California Screamin's final turn.
IMG_2582Small.jpg

Finally, here is what Screamin' & the wheel look like.
IMG_2596Small.jpg

The orange is gone.
IMG_2605Small.jpg

The drop towers will be next to go.

I have lots more photos & videos to post in my trip report, which I hope to get to soon.

Disney California Advenure Expansion

Can't find the topic there was about this if there was one.

Anyway. Disney have released a video detailing the plans of the expansion and what to expect when each attraction opens.

Looks good. Not overly surel why want a Waveswinger but oh well.

Why cant the american enthusiasm be spread towards Paris! :|

Here’s a good preview of the World of Color water show with Steven Davison, the Vice President of Parades and Spectaculars in the Walt Disney Imagineering company. Although beware, as there are some spoilers in his presentation.

Finally had a chance to properly watch those videos Neo. Good find.

It all sounds very grand and looks nice but to be honest I don't think any amount of fancy explanation is going to do it justice. Some of what he was saying was great but other times I really get the feeling it is one of those - you will "get it" when you see it - type attractions.

BUMP

Just found this link off TPR showing a full version (25 minutes long) of World of Colour... Some reckon this is NOT the final final version... But... It looks actually fantastic...

http://www.laughingplace.com/Lotion-View-1024.asp

Full list of songs involved are:

* Wonderful World of Color TV theme and introduction
* World of Color theme
* Part of Your World and Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid
* Finding Nemo sequence, featuring Crush and Dory
* Pines of Rome from Fantasia 2000
* Wall-E sequence
* Toy Story sequence, featuring Buzz Lightyear and Zurg
* A Whole New World from Aladdin
* Just Around the Riverbend and Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas
* A Bug’s Life sequence
* Little April Showers from Bambi
* Pirates of the Caribbean sequence
* Night on Bald Mountain from Fantasia
* Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Hey Neal)
* Villains sequence, featuring Scar from The Lion King
* So Close from Enchanted
* Transformation Theme and Beauty and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast
* World of Color medley and finale

It's a mix of songs and talking parts... And hard to judge fully due to the impaired angle... But still, it wants excessively...

Yes it looks fantastic.

In about 5 years the park will be worh going back to as by that time all the mess should be cleared up and all the new attractions open :)

It truely is spectacular; something that only Disney could properly pull off. It must be a lot better in real person as it is hard to see the mist screens and projections in that video. The scale is just something amazing.

Makes Blackpools fountain show look like a pile of piss. :p

...Oh wait. It was anyway. :lol:

How much did the fountain show at Disney cost to make?
