It's interesting how all the track joins occur at columns and they are just butting segments up to each other.

I never even noticed that, that is very interesting. Does seem like they will be bolted together at the bottom though. RMC Raptors track pieces are connected by a large bottom plate, a smaller top plate and two bolts, one on either side of the track towards the bottom.
 
Construction is going well on Big Dipper and one of the larger elements has started to go up.

Just absolutely mad for it to be built so close to existing apartments. Amazed they got planning permission for a new thrill coaster, even if the park itself has existed long before the apartments were built.
