Lightwater Valley - Future?

Every time I see there is a new post in this topic I assume the park has finally closed for good 😔.

Yeah... it does seem to be going downhill. Although i've heard from locals that the park can be fairly busy these days.
So maybe they're just stripping it back more and more to see what the bare minimum is.

Depressing though when you think back to what the park once was and how much is just abandoned.

Tbh I see this as a form of Asset Stripping from Brighton Pier Group. Maybe preparing to sell the park on?
Isn't rocket the ride that camel creek got rid of because it's basically falling apart and needs so much work to make it safe they just sold it on? Was always surprised lightwater picked it up when it's on its last legs.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this scrapped

Could possibly be scrapped, waste of money for them if so. Apparently it was deemed “beyond repair” from a comment I seen a while back. Can see this season being absolutely shocking for the park if it’s just the rocking tug what’s new.

Can confirm it's being dismantled, wiring is all ripped out of it and a concrete pad is being poured in the middle of the ride that appears to be the shape and size of a Rockin Tug ride.
It’s a disgrace the way the park has been asset stripped the the owners and the previous owners . Will only end up going one way . I was told the eagles claw is to be scrapped as it was going to cost to much money to repair for Brighton pier group . How long are we giving them before park is up for sale again

Yes deffo , take as much money out of company then sell

Like when Brighton Pier Group scrapped The Ultimate, they were scrambling to get it gone hence why it didn’t take them long to remove it..

I'm amazed they won't sell it on if it is true. I'd have thought a park would want to take on a thrill ride like the Eagle's Claw for their park.

I'm thinking we may end up seeing housing plans for Lightwater Valley by the end of the decade.

I was saying exactly the same as you , it’s a really good kmg afterburner best one in the country very good cycle , But they have had it up for sale around the Covid-19 times and couldn’t find a buyer for it (that’s what they said) . Without a shadow of a doubt it will be sold for housing they will make a fortune just like Flambards

Imo all the park needs is a decent owner who is actually going to invest in the park and not remove anything to make it worse than it already is.

yes 100% . I think it’s to late now as the park has lost its crown jewel (the ultimate ) it was one of a kind ride very rough but still loved by everyone who visited the park the main reason you went to lightwater valley, You can’t replace it . They made a huge mistake and they couldn’t care less it’s all . All these so called investment groups who have bought lightwater valley have never taken it to the next level with rides etc they have no interest in the park . Such a shame as it is my local park (well was) had many trips here every year since I was a kid hopefully one of us wins the lottery and can buy the park 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The park went downhill more once Livingstone Leisure bought it back in 2017. Ball Investments brought loads of rides in from 2001 - 2017 the likes of Eagles Claw, Skyrider, Trauma Tower, Whirlwind, Apollo, Hornets Nest etc..
Mellors Group were interested in the park back in 2017 but by the time they decided it was sold to Livingstone. Imagine that if only if mellors got it we would probably still have The Ultimate etc.
