Legoland Billund posted something interesting on their FB-Site earlier today.

They have announced that both Timber Ride and the Mine Train is being removed for good, to make space for the new attraction.

In English it only says that they'll be closed for the rest of the season, not forever, granted I can't speak Dutch so...

Dutch? you probably mean Danish?

Which is why I added the rest of the information in the bottom of my post.
And you mean Deutsch.

The park has posted a little teaser on their Facebook-Page, where they also say that the full reveal will be in 2 days!

It basically says "News 2014, Terrifying Fun!"

It has been announced...

Legoland Billund will in 2014 open "Ghost" - The Haunted House.
As far as I'm aware, it's going to be a walkthrough attraction with a 8 meter tall free fall tower at the end.

Here's a video of a danish actor who explains the attraction via a Lego Model.

Personally I think the idea is good, and I like how Legoland Billund has taken the lead in building new and unique attractions for their park. But it's just not what they need right now. - They took out two kiddie attractions including the only kiddie coaster they had, and then they build this.
It's a stupid move in my opinion, they should have build a new kiddie coaster instead, they really need that now.

So essentially an Extremis/Sub-Terra attraction then?

They're pretty good to be fair for what they are. Could be a good combination with the more fun Lego aspect.

I don't really see a problem with the removal of the kiddie coaster. It was probably not that popular anyway.

They also have the Mack powered coaster, which have a 1m height limit. Kid's are around 3-4 years old when they hit 1 meter, so I don't think they need to have a smaller kiddie coaster than that.

I actually think a lot of parks have unnecessary children's coaster.
Mack Youngstar coaster and Vekoma rollerskater's are the smallest you need IMO.

Having smaller rides like the small Zierer Tivoli coasters or a Zamperla Family Gravity coaster is unnecessary IMO as there are other children's attractions so much more fun and enjoyable for the little ones.

Damn :(

I won't miss the timber coaster, but I do have a nostalgic soft spot for the "Minetog". I'm a bit concerned by what this means for the future of Legoland Billund as a park.

Basically, I feel the real strength of Legoland Billund is that very little has changed over the years in the old part of the park. The park has been expanded massively over the years, and the new attractions are pretty good, but the old section still had a real sense of character to it, as opposed to the soulless feel of Legoland Windsor. Now Merlin are starting to overhaul the older parts, and I can't help but feel they're going to slowly but undermine everything that made the place special.

This. The original lego feeling is lost in the newer attractions.

Got mixed feelings about this - does look pretty good, but I think a dark ride would have been a better fit for the park. also - the drop idea is already used by the rather fabby polar xplorer.

I love the video for the attraction. Brilliant way to introduce a new ride.

I haven't been to the park but I do feel like some of the negative comments are a bit over the top? This looks like it'll be a great addition and hopefully the Lego humour will shine throughout.

The height requirement is one thing, but some children might think Dragen is too much.

Noo! I cant't believe they're removing the timber ride, that's my first cred ever...

As pointed out by thecoastercruiser the timber ride meet another nische than Dragen since smaller kids can ride it. And there are lots of smaller kids at legoland Billund!! Plus it's a really pretty ride, so sad to see it go!

I'm excited to see how they pull this off properly and the level of detail inside, it's an exciting project.
