Kolmården's Djurpark | Wildfire | RMC Wooden Coaster

I'm thrilled about the news, but I'll be surprised if they get it open by 2016. From my conversations with the guys at RMC they were already pushing to get it open by next year before the delay. I thought it was due to the long cold winters that would prevent construction from progressing at the usual pace, but it's the lack of daylight that's the issue.
 
If RMC worked through one of Chicago's coldest winters on record for Goliath, I think we can expect this open by 2016.

This is amazing news! This'll probably be in many of our Top 10's, maybe even some people's #1.
 
The CEO said a few things about construction yesterday. If the construction had gone as previously planned the ride would have been done this fall. As it is now they are immediately going to make a new schedule with Vekoma and RMC. As it looks now they think they can open the ride late spring 2016. We might see a delay, but it will definitely open in 2016 unless something extreme happens. I would expect June/July.
 
For those who haven't seen it... Wildfire is more than just under construction... They've made huge progress!

Apparently most of the bents were built and a lot of it was up before the planning disputes occurred.
 
Yeah, that's not real, those footers aren't casting any form of shadow and there are no line distortions created by dirt or rubble around their bases.
 
Would anyone happen to have any more construction pictures or info?? This is such a quiet project... You hardly hear anything about it anymore.
 
Holy cow, that's quite a goal. Either they're way far behind on construction (because of the legal issues) or we're just behind on construction updates. I'd love to see it up by June, but July-August would make more sense, given the setbacks. We'll see!
