What's new

Knoebels | Impulse | Zierer Vertical Lift Coaster

I'd say the colors are definitely agreeable. It's worth bearing in mind that the winterscape will show colors in a different light than summer - and think Impulse will look well come June.

Here are the videos I promised:

The trains were been delivered to the park this morning.

From the park's Facebook page

Yeah the trains look identical to Wicked at Lagoon in Utah. I can testify after riding Wicked many times, those leg restraints are irritating.

Impulse looks awesome though. I need to visit Knoebel's some day.

Testing was scheduled to begin last Thursday or Friday, so I went to the park on Thursday due to the impending snow storm on Friday. However testing has been delayed a bit due to it taking longer than expected to get power to the coaster. They are hoping to begin testing today.
Here are some more photos of the completed track and the test train on the transfer track, as well as the videos I filmed:

TEST FOOTAGE!

As of now, looks a bit slow, but that could be put down to it being brand new and it isn't "loose" yet. Wish it had more hills and less turns, as I have wished a lot lately.

I think it's a fun little addition to the park, offering something a bit different than the woodies. Nice alternative to something like a Eurofighter or an S&S Loco. Also, lap bars!!

^Probably has more to do with the camera being attached to a test car rather than the actual cars, although it being the very first test run has a lot to do with it as well.

Oh dear, that's not the best start. Although at this stage; it is more likely to be human error than the ride being at fault which doesn't cause as much delay.

Yeah, I believe it was a human error and the man knew what he did wrong. And they were hoping to open this by like May, right? Don't think they'll have a big problem with that.

Another POV, less wobbly than that first one

Wicked isn't so bad if you know how to ride it, and it on;y takes one ride to learn. Also, the Trains for Impulse are Significantly Different from Wicked's.

^ You shouldn't have to 'learn' how to ride a coaster, this ideology irritates me. The whole "If you sit in X seat, in X car, on X train whilst holding your right arm up at 45º and holding your restraint with your left arm, you'll have a great ride" idea is ridiculous. A coaster shouldn't have to be like that to ride it - you should be able to sit anywhere and have a comfortable ride, not having to worry about holding a certain position to alleviate any uncomfortable restraint flaws which in turn spoils the ride experience.

Not sure why anyone is fapping over this. Reminds me of just a fairly samey samey looping coaster (Like Batman at SFNE) except with a vertical drop and 1 car train.
Will be fun of course, but just seems....generic.
