JOHN!

What could go in Revs space? I actually think that space is bigger than people realise.

Launcher from MS/Gerstlaur/Zierra/somethinglikethat would be my vote. Launch, upsidedowny, cheap, family friendly, compact. Seems to be what the park needs all in one nice little package.

^It's really not though. It's a long space, yeah, but it's basically hemmed in all along both sides. Realistically, the only thing that could fit without a fairly major rebuild of the whole area would be something with a similar-shaped footprint. The only thing I can think of is an Intamin Impulse.

That's NOT what I'm suggesting is going to happen at all by the way; just that I can't see that space being used productively if Revolution were to disappear.

My sense of space must be so dire, I'm-a go to google maps and actually look... Because I am certain it's a heck of a lot wider there than people say and most of the stuff to the side of Revolution could be removed/moved about.

Okay looking at google maps, it still looks like a large enough space for a coaster to me...?

There's a building under the north end of it that I dunno what it is (anyone know?) but the building under the south end is a Whip, isn't it? No one's going to miss that. There's a pond there, don't know if it has a purpose or is scenery. The monorail passes through as does the railway, but a coaster could avoid them, no?

No, I'm with you Joey. The actual space of the coaster is obviously nothing, but, there's loads you could move/spite in the near vicinty which would mean you could easily fit in some sort of Gerstauler launch or launched X Car.

I don't think Blackpool are that great at maximising space anyway to be honest. They're alright, but, they're no Grona Land or anything... There's LOADS more they could squeeze in if they really wanted to.

Actually, getting rid of both Avalanche and the car thing would probably be the best bet. I wouldn't mind Avalanche going, yeah it's unique to the UK but it's probably the worst example of a Bobsled coaster. It's OK, but I doubt anyone would really miss it. Yeah, Steeplechase takes up loads of room, loads, but I can see them spiting a non-classic like Avalanche first. Hopefully.

Not convinced at all. The building at the North end (on the right) is the railway shed for the Pleasure Beach Express. The one under the North platform is a food place I think. The building under the drop is the "new for 201-) dodgems, with the logo designed by Robbie Williams - not a Whip. The building kind of to the right on the south is a food place.

Even taking those out, it's barely wide enough to fit the blue-print of Avalanche into it. I agree, it's probably enough for "something", but it's a very small space and would require a lot of stuff to be taken out for a small addition. Now...

Do that AND Rev and you've got an area ready for an absolutely colossal development. It's not going to happen, but we can dream ;)

Did you not go on that awful thing at King's Dominion (I'll narrow that down for you Ben, the awful Bobsled coaster ;) )?

Yeah, the one at KD is DIRE.

I secretly like Avalanche, it's the shortest one, but, it's also the one that feels fastest and most out of control at the end.

The one at Europa's also the absolute worst <//3

I agree, the one at KD is vile as is the absolute boredom that resides at Europa. Blackpool's is the best of those 3 which I've been on, and I also like it. It feels a lot faster than the others.

Back to that space, well those buildings being of use does pretty much ruins my idea, but I still believe that if you were to take them out you could get a compact launching/looper there. You have to remember as well it doesn't seem Blackpool need to worry about height too much.

Other alternatives? I dunno. See, if that space is going to get used I'd rather it was properly used and I can't think of anything else. El Loco? It just seems that is a BIG space and there's other areas of the park you could squeeze an El Loco into, so why waste that land?

If they were to JUST spite Revolution (and the stuff under it), one of these could work...

<3.

They could maybe get a Zac Spin in the space that Revolution is in. However I don't think that's due to be removed just yet as it's apparently getting a re-paint this year.

Build an El Loco on the Turtle Chase site, possibly fill in that dreadful lighthouse thing too.

Then remove Avalanche, it's rubbish, and spite the Grand Prix. Lots of room before you even have think about accidentally burning down Nash.

Why do people keep bringing up the idea of them getting an El Loco? Has everyone forgotten they're awful?

I agree with what everyone else has said about awful rides on Grand National recently, I didn't enjoy it at all this year, but the area around the back of Valhalla is a bit of an eyesore and unless they tore down the arena it would be a very awkward space. I'd love to see them re-design/build it NTG style, but realistically they could probably improve the ride experience by reprofiling and partly retracking.

Personally i'd prefer not to see Avalanche go, for it's short layout it gives a good ride. I think it would be interesting to see what they could do with the space created by removing Grand Prix and Revolution, the mini golf to the back of Avalance is in disrepair and there seems to be some space between the bumper boats and PMBO's lift hill. It would be pretty easy to build in and around Avalanche once you've cleared some of the space near to it.

Other than that, looking on google earth, removing Steeplechase and the go carts would give a lot of room for a custom layout.

Does this thread remind anyone else of playing RCT1? :--D

El Locos are dreadful, but also appropriate. And the sensible industry professional side of me says blackpool should get one.

The enthusiast side of me says... Stop being pansies and worrying about space and DO A HERSHEYPARK.

An El Loco in Blackpool...

It gets way to busy. Just think of the queues.
Ohh yer I forgot they have coppied the Eurofighter trains.
