The Christmas season has started already.

This greatly bugs me, mostly since I turned on the radio and discovered Christmas music, on Halloween. It just seems to come earlier and earlier every year, and thanksgiving is completely undermined. I'm even seeing Christmas decor out at the stores days before the end of October.

I'm not saying it's a bad holiday, just completely overthrown. Can we please keep it in it's place, and in December?

Your thoughts on the matter.

I completely agree. I turned on the TV today and saw Christmas commercials (plural). I haven't even started to think much about Thanksgiving. Stupid. :cwm10:

Yeah, Christmas should stay where it belongs...in December. It would highly annoy me to hear a Christmas song on Halloween, so much that I would send an email to the radio station and try to get an apology from them.

Bah Humbug...

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this, damn Argos adverts have been on for the past two weeks... Urgh...

I dislike the build-up to it all... When January sales are much better ;)

When I was at California last week for Halloween Disney put snow on their castle. Not happy.

I was thinking yesterday when I was walking through Nottingham that how come, in this world of political correctness, it is pefectly acceptable to put it christmas trees and decorations in early November? No doubt it's because of the reccession so businesses want to get the Christmas crowds in early. But it is riddiculous.

XMas is cancelled for me this year.

I'm not doing anything - staying at home with a few cans of frosty beer. Im not buying any presents.. or getting any either.

I'm gonna spend it with my "little pal" giving him an xmas to remember (beer and pron basically)

I literally am Scrooge. I hate Christmas, and I could bore you with rants about why I hate it, but I won't.

My local Morissons has had Xmas aisles since mid-august, and it's just really silly.

My mum isn't bothering with Christmas this year. We don't ever have xmas dinner as it's nasty, we do presents and xmas tv, but this year we've decided to not do much this year. A few nit bits here and there, and that's it.

Christmas only beings when you see the Coca-Cola advert on TV (and you all know the one i'm talking about - not the crappy modern version.)

Christmas hasn't really hit Bournemouth yet (or not to my knowledge anyway ) but I expect it'll start to turn up in the next few weeks. I do love this time of year, with the early evenings, pretty lights and festive atmosphere but starting in November really is too early.

If you think xmas dinner is nasty - then you need to give your mom a slap and tell her to go on some cooking lessons..

Women should know how to cook dagnammit!

^ If I bypass your obviously sexist comment, none of our family like roast dinner of any kind, and thus, xmas dinner. Hence, why should my mum slave over a stove for 4 hours f nobody is going to eat it?

Its not my fault your mom cant cook.
:--D

everyone says "it comes earlier every year". Honestly it doesn't...

Halloween ends, christmas stuff is straight out, happens every year, yet everyone seems surprised lol baffling.

I kinda agree. Infact the've been doing Christmas stuff here before Halloween. Then again there is always those Christmas catalogs that start getting advertised in August. That's a bit ridiculous

Don't forget even though Christmas isn't till near the end of next month people like to get their shopping out the way early. Hence why all the Christmas stuff is out on the shelves now. Even though it still seems a while off it always comes up pretty quickly.

Plus if you get paid at the end of the month then you need to buy earlier, hence the products and catalogues out earlier.

Well I at least thing that if you need to put Christmas music stuff and decorations it should be at the least late November. It's not bad with Christmas catalogs or anything like that because the gifts may take awhile and the hassle and stuff. Although people would argue you should focus more on Thanksgiving, when you think about it, you don't have Thanksgiving music, and hardly any Thanksgiving decorations as much as Christmas so I'm mostly neutral, but I think that it's a bit too early.

If people want to do Christmas related shopping before my bloody birthday then they should be taken out and hung upon a tree...

Christmas shouldn't be allowed until midway through November at the earliest, yes Halloween is over but we here hardly celebrate it...

Halfway through the day anyway I'm bored and have already broken out whichever game or whatever I've got... Then lunch comes and I am happy cos I have roast potatoes... Then it's turkey for the next week...

It's just built up way too much for a singular day... Boxing Day is usually much better cos at least there's football on

Yes, I think all Americans should celebrate a holiday commemorating people who helped save your lives then you slaughtered them all and took their land. Good on America.

This.

It's been happening for years. It's not getting "earlier" at all. It's been like this for as long as I can remember (try working in a supermarket from early November onwards and NOT loose the will to live).

The whole "Ooohhhh it get's earlier every year. It's all too commercial these days" conversations are tired, dull and cliched.
