Is Nemesis the world's best inverted coaster?

See, that's really weird because I can't think of any of the other inverts that come close to as intense as Nemesis does for me. Alpengeist did in spots and Talon was close. Great Bear had a moment or two. Generally though, it always feels really intense, even at the front near the start of the day last week (even the stall turn was good).

So I just don't know how it can be so different between people? I can understand that it has faults, and it's not the most "fun" or "interesting" invert I've been on, but it's almost always intense for me.

The initial Helix was good and the run down to the cobra roll. It wasn't massive, but it was there :)

I would say so yes. Considering it being one of the oldest B&M rollercoasters in the world, it's really stood the test of time. Plus I can't picture a single rollercoaster out there, especially out of B&M's catalogue, that breaks the traditional (lift, main drop, loop) pattern the way Nemesis has.

I rode it a couple of weeks ago, and finally managed to sit on the back-far left for the first time ever, just to see what all the fuss was about. It's hard to believe how quickly it gains speed, and how ferociously you're forced through the elements, it just seemed perfectly layed out, not one segment gives you room to catch your breath, there's not one segment which feels like it was put there just to fill in the rest of the track. From the theming, layout, intensity, diversity and the pure nostalgic factor of it being amongst the elder inverts, I find it hard not to say it's the perfect blueprint for an inverted coaster.

In my opinion, I don't think these rollercoasters need enormous drops and inversion-after-inversion layouts, if I wanted that I'd ride Dragon Khan or Kumba, because they do it absolutely fine. Inverted coasters seem more of a concept, and should be explored a bit better these days (Black Mamba however, is a good example of an invert this millenium). They seem better with short sweet forceful layouts, with plenty of leg-chopper, tight elements and unpredictable twists and turns.

But thats just my opinion, the larger inverts are brilliant, but they hardly break any boundaries.

I've been on Nemesis, and it was amazing! However, I've only been on two inverts (nemi and inferno) so I couldn't really say if Nemesis is the best in the world. In august Im going to ride Dragon Challenge and Montu, so hopefully I'll get a better judgement on the topic. However, out of the two I've ridden, Nemesis is the best :)

I haven't been on Nemesis in a while however for some reason I had a much better ride on Montu.

I think I have the same thing as Joey as after riding it so many times, I just can't see it as the best invert. Personally, I rate Montu above it, because it was even more forceful than Nemesis and provided a better ride experience in my opinion. Now if it was the other way around and I had ridden Montu over a hundred times and only Nemesis a couple, things might be different and I might see Nemesis in a different light. I think it's all about personal perception.

i think talon and raptor are totally insane. really at the end of the day all the B&Ms are amazing, different people just like different ones i guess.

1) Nemesis
2) Katun/Black Mamba (I can't really place one above the other)
then a whole lot of meh.... (well, N:I and SFMM's Batman. Don't think I've done any others?)

What makes Nemesis so good is that it everything a coaster enthusiast could wish for...it's easy to see why it's winning the 'best ride ever poll' at Alton Towers!

Inverts don't do much for me, especially the bigger ones, so when it comes to coaster like Nemesis, Afterburn, Vampire/Batman, they completely blow anything like Alpengeist out of the water. Although most B&Ms follow the same pattern, inverts just tend to bore me because I'm not fond of inversions to begin with, and half of them just do the same ****, which is why in my opinion Nemesis is the best invert that I've been on. I'd rank my inverts like this:

1. Nemesis
2. Afterburn
3. La Vampire
4. Batman: the Ride (St. Louis, followed by Great America and Great Adventure)
5. Katun
6. Alpengeist
7. Patriot
8. Raptor/Nemesis Inferno

Since I've been on twelve, I know enough that any other big inverted coaster in the world won't impress me because the ones I've been on have been average. The only things I could see possibly edging out Nemesis are Black Mamba and Montu. So yah, I haven't been on every inverted coaster in the world to say, but as of now I think Nemesis is the best one.

It's over rated to **** in my opinion.

Yes, it's very good, but best inverted coaster or (as some people say) best coaster over-all? Not a chance....

I haven't ridden that many B&M inverts (or whatever they're called) but of those I've ridden, Batman at Great Adventure, Raptor and Montu were all considerably better than Nemesis....

So no, no it isn't the best inverted coaster. Not by a long shot.

There's a lot more to a ride to just the ride itself, what makes Nemesis great is it's use of terrain and the foot-chopping parts (eg.the tiny tunnel).

Nemesis was my first 'proper' coaster so I guess I was plunged in the deep end....

Im stuck in a stalemate with this ride... I went on it yesterday, for maybe the 10th time in my life, with high expectations. Every time im queing i hope it's better than the time before, but it never is. I like the ride, but i'm not in love with it, and i want to be. Although i appreciate the work put in, the design, the uniqeness, it just doesn't thrill me. People say how amazing it is and how it's possibly the best inverted, but i go on this, then montu in busch gardens, and i say to myself "there's no comparison, montu is better". Sure it lacks in theming, but seriously, it's longer, faster, taller, but those aren't so important, montu gets my heart beating, the batwing is so forceful my feet ache, i come off it saying "that was incredible" but i don't get that for nemsis... Please somebody tell me why nemesis is so popular, because i just don't see the WOW factor in it, and if you agree with me, please say, because i feel like im alone on this one! :?

OMG you agree?! YAY you're basically the first person to agree with me on this, montu is the only invert from the three you mentioned i have ridden, but it is SO much better than nemesis :)

What is your opinion on montu and dragon challenge. Montu is my favourite invert, the batwing on the back is just insane, and for dragon challenge i prefer the chinese fireball (or fire i prefer to call it)... and do you like the front of them? And how is it compared to nemesis? sorry for the questioins, i'm just interested :)

For me my top 3 inverts are Black Mamba, Montu then Nemesis.
It's alright. People hype it up so badly but it's nothing amazing.
