Intamin "Blitz" coaster

Here's a question for you.

What on earth separates a "Blitz" coaster from an "Accelerator" coaster?

There are 2 Blitz coasters. Maverick and iSpeed.

What on earth do they have in common?

Maverick has a lift, that could separate it from Accelerator ride type, but iSpeed does't.

If it's about how much they do, why isn't Storm Runner one?

Yeah so, what defines a Blitz coaster?

iSpeed and Maverick both have three cars and six rows. Accelerators tend to have five cars and ten rows, though there are some exceptions (Kanonen has four cars, Senzafiato has three cars)

^I would agree, but I'd have thought Cheetah Hunt counted as a blitz coaster too and it has longer trains.

All three are classed as "LSM Launch Coasters" on the Intamin website - no mention of "Blitz Coaster".

I would assume that Intamin rebranded their LSM from Blitz to LSM Launch between iSpeed and C'hunt:

I actually think it refers to the rate of acceleration and how long the acceleration lasts.

Not sure though...possibly height as well or lack of a launch cable?

Just to confuse everyone, apparently Maverick is a "Terra coaster" as well - the only one in the world (this is according to CP). Not to be confused with a "Tera coaster" which is a traditional "lifted" coaster taller than 100 metres (term coined by Heide park, but the coaster was never built).

I'm starting to refer to them all as just "Intamins" now...

I think it is just LSM launches, and I would say if it wasn't for iSpeed, it would be multiple launches, but clearly, that theory is not true based off iSpeed having one launch.

Maverick only has one launch too, though? Or are we counting it's lift cuz its not a regular lift?

Thanks Phil, I think his logic is best that Intamin changed terminology. That or they just do not care.

In my mind, Maverick is the only ride of it's kind. A kind I like to call "awesome".

I count the lift as a launch as it's LSM and not a traditional, but that's just me.

But it really doesn't "launch" you. Yea, you get up to 35 mph, but then it slows you down as you're about to crest the hill.

I suppose it's lift feels faster than I305's drop.

^Agreed. The lift is using LSM's even though it is at an angle and doesn't accelerate the whole way.. so technically it is launching you up to speed rather then simply lifting you at a constant rate.
