Many of those folks were making far, far less than $1 per 12-16 hour day of back-breaking physical labor with the only alternative being jailed for immigration violations in a nation-state with corporal punishment.

Getting "paid" a wage with no option for quitting may technically be named indentured servitude, but it's still just a nice shine on slavery when you're forced to live at the company lodging, eat the company rations, and toil endlessly for a pittance.

EVERY topic that revolved around Dubai ends like this... Emphasis on ENDS - nothing usually comes of the topics.

Not entirely sure if that's construction scaffolding or the skeleton of the final product but it's certainly an interesting piece of architecture nonetheless.

I wonder if the Blue Fire clone will be the only coaster at this park. Seems like a few indoor family ones might also happen (it seems logical at least).

It's called a space frame, it's the structure of the building to put it simple.

Just drove past the site and the building is really coming along fast now.

^Yep. One park getting built out of the god knows how many proposed, and years after the fact, certainly makes us all look like total idiots.

When it opens then I will believe it, Ferrari World is only busy one weekend a year.

I'm sure Dubai wasn't expecting a world financial crises to happen... Surely as coaster enthusiasts you should be happy a new park Is being built.
As for saying Ferrari World is only busy on one weekend a year, how could you ever prove that unless you work at the park? My step dads work friends visit the park regularly and they have said the park has always been busy every time, winter is the parks busiest period as the weather is more comfortable, and remember Ferrari World is in Abu Dhabi what has a whole different tourism than Dubai.

It's dead there every single person that I know who has been there have all said the same thing.

They have even changed things to try and get people there.

I follow f1 and Ferrari so get updates. The Grand Prix weekend earns them enough to keep going but the park is not very popular all year long.

It's my view about this park but I just don't see it happening as they planned it.
