Basically proves how confident you may be at parking, but also how much time you put into it, I thought of it whilst out in the Hyundai today.

I apologise if it sounds simple but sometimes the small things are the best places to start :)

I always drive forwards.

Backing in is a bit for homosexuals really ;)

I wish I could drive though...

Out in the Hyundai eh? You sly old fox.

If it's between two cars I'll normally reverse in, if it's next to one I'll go in front first.

I usually reverse in as it's easier to drive out. Plus I've seen a few near misses with people reversing out blind and nearly hitting other cars passing by.

Oh God, parking is NOT my strong point. Usually end up crooked, way to close to someone else's car, or taking up a space and a half. But, I do always go forwards in.

Neither particularly bothers me, however I do often drive in just for convenience.

Sometimes the position of the space alters how I go in. For example, I'll drive into a space with a wall at the end because it's easier to load up the boot when I get back.

LOL I didn't get taught how to park when I was learning to drive. So I just put it somewhere over 2 lines and leave it there normally.

I always reverse in. I find it easy to reverse a car into parking bay than drive in. Every since I misjudged it when driving into a parking space and ended up denting another car, I've reversed in.

It also makes it a lot easier when you want to get away. Easier to see for starters.

I find a space with a free space infront of it, so I can drive all the way through, and then drive out :p.

It's called a 'drive through space', although I don't know how common this terminology is haha.

Same with me. Bournemouth test centre doesn't have any bay parking zones, so you don't have to be taught it and they won't come up on the test.

It's completely random for me, depending on what mood i'm, how much room there to manouver, and how much of a hurry i'm in. I always reverse park at Uni, but working at the railway I always go in forward - no idea why, it's just how i've always done it.

If there is a "drive through space" as Jake calls it then i'll head for one of those since its by far the easiest and most lazy method.

Same here.
If there's a curb in front I reverse in to avoid scratching the front of my car. These new BMWs have a very low front end that are easily damaged.

Before with the Neon I didn't give a crap, but I'm not gonna mess up the new ride just to be lazy. It's worth the extra effort to have a nice ride.

This.

Although the only time I have to bay park is when I go to Asda and I drive in there because I need access to the boot with the trolley.

I also drive in to my work parking space because it's quicker and there's never a car either side.

But yeah, it's easier to reverse park.

Parallel parking... now that does my head in and I'll avoid it where I can! Which is a bad thing really, because I'm well out of practice!

What a ridiculously contradicting post.

I got taught, but in my test the two manouvres they picked were turn in the road and left reverse so i never had to prove any parking ability to pass my test :)

Also to quote Jake, I use the drive through parking space when at tesco. So i can drive in and driveout, sometimes I may park a little further away if I can see a drive through space.

I'll reverse into a space on gravel car parks as there are no lines.
