Simply by using another name for gay couple UK government discriminates them. Content-wise civil partnership and marriage are the same.

I am just not sure why people want it to be called anything other than marriage, or am I missing something.
In the Netherlands and other countries that have civil partnership available for heterosexuals, there are legal differences between civil partnership and marriage.
 
^You can't really say that it's discrimination just to call it something else. Discrimination is unfair treatment of someone, based on unfair prejudices, and civil partnerships grant gay couples the same legal rights as marriage.
