Have you ever self-spited yourself out of a roller coaster?

Outside of kid coasters here and there, I don't think I've ever intentionally skipped anything major...but I've had times where I accidentally missed things or missed for reasons beyond my control. Like, I could have done Rage at Adventure Island but the Park closed early the day I went and with 45 minutes to go in the day by the time I got there, I did the three coasters on the right side of the park first, getting to Rage after if closed (and the big Tivoli had vallied so it was an actual spite) also at Southport, the SLC was closed the entire time I was there but I left in favor of going to Camelot that same day, rather than hang around in hopes Traumatizer opened.

The only one that comes to mind was a traveling Chance Toboggan coaster at a traveling fair in Scarborough. This would've been in the late '90s, so very much pre-enthusiast days, so it wasn't really a self-spite. My friends and I just thought it looked s**t, so didn't bother. Sacrilege!

The annoying thing is that I've still never got to try one out. I saw another one at Lakemont Park, but it was closed; it might have even been SBNO by that point. There was another one at a park outside Sao Paulo when I was there, which I decided not to visit based on time/distance, but it turns out I could have fit it in, so I guess that's kind of a self-spite.

I am not into Coaster Counts, so I skipped a lot of smaller coasters. But there is only one that I deeply regret until today:
- Speed – The Ride at Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas

I was barely a teenager when I came to Las Vegas with my Grandparents 3 times within 1 year, and we lived in Germany. I already was a big roller coaster fan back then, I never skipped any coaster, but this one and I dont know why. My grandfather asked me multiple times if I want to go on this coaster since I liked the New York Coaster and the Adventure Doom. But I said no, every single time. I remember being a little bit spooked by not seeing the whole ride and not knowing what will happen. Now I deeply regret it since I absolutely love Las Vegas and that Coaster actually provided a great launch.

Nah whatever I skip I never consider "spite" I am OK skipping on whatever I do. These are usually kiddie rides or clones. I've always been quality > quantity so if pressed for time or there's other better rides etc I wont bother doing some and I'm fine with it. If I can or I really want a ride, I'll do it. Can't think of any self spite but my worst non closure spite was Maverick, 2010.

Sooo I went in 2007 with my family and it happened to be that 2 week period it was down because they were removing the roll. I was so bummed seeing it sit there all weekend just empty, mocking me! In 2010 went with some college buds after graduation and I was stoked to finally get on Maverick but (going with non enthusiasts) we didn't get to it ASAP so the line was long all day. At one point it was 45 minutes and I told the guys please this one snubbed me, 45 mins isn't bad but "I'm tired" "45 minutes is kinda long man" "This ride has no wait" so by democracy I was spited Maverick by my friends lol At one point we did the antique cars and bumpers cars a few times and they were like "hell yeah! That's like 4 rides we did in the same time as that wait, isnt that better man?" internally no, it wasn't!

2011 I finally got on Maverick bc I went solo 😆 Lesson learned! When with "normies" I tell myself its a chill day and go with the flow, otherwise I go solo or with enthusiasts. Because breakdown or self spite is one thing, nothing hurts more than friend spite lol Or **** it sometimes I have said "see yall in 30" and duck onto a ride, wish I did it the prior year!
