What's new

Gardaland | Kung Fu Panda Master | Fabbri Spinner

I can confirm that Pandamonium at Chessington is not an IP and is a stand alone custom show being developed. Animatronic show costumes are being provided by Millennium FX.

Nothing we didn't already know but here's a press release that appeared in my inbox this morning.

A new deal with DreamWorks Animation – American giant specialised in the production of animation movies – is about to give birth to the new addition for 2016 of Gardaland Resort: we are talking about KUNG FU PANDA ACADEMY, an important themed area dedicated to the millions of fans of the “Kung Fu Panda” saga and its legendary heroes.

The new wholly themed area will debut on the month of May and it will be dedicated to the entertainment and fun of the whole family. Inspired by the characters of the new “Kung Fu Panda 3” movie - in Italian cinemas from the next 17th of March – the area will offer an up-close and unforgettable experience following the footsteps of the heroes of this trilogy made in DreamWorks Animation.

KUNG FU PANDA ACADEMY will feature attractions, interactive games and plenty of live entertainment in the whole area. Children will dive into the world of Po, meeting in person the charismatic giant panda, - great martial arts fan – and his strong and courageous friend Tigress. Alongside them they will have the opportunity to learn and master their abilities to become great Kung Fu masters! A characteristically colourful pagoda will act as a stage, where the characters will perform for spectators of all ages who will fill up the amphitheatre placed right in front of it. There will also be the new rollercoaster for families that will offer descents and fun rotations that will make you acquire the courage of true “Dragon Warriors”. Among the fantastic attractions present in the fun, Kung Fu-style village there will also be spaces dedicated to merchandising (gift shop).

And speaking of Oriental flavours and atmospheres, Gardaland is set to present its new Sushi Restaurant, unprecedented among European Theme Parks! This brand new catering spot will offer very rich menus dedicated to young people and families looking for an exclusive idea inside the Park, a simple cuisine yet made of decisive flavours.

“We are delighted to present KUNG FU PANDA ACADEMY to our public” - says Aldo Maria Vigevani, CEO of Gardaland. “As the First Theme Park in Italy, Gardaland develops every year great new projects to ensure to its Guests the best possible experience. Setting-up KUNG FU PANDA ACADEMY in our Park allows to add, for 2016, another prime offer to our current portfolio of incredible and fantastic attractions.”

Only at Gardaland, will adults and children alike find the characters and the architecture that made the Kung Fu Panda saga a worldwide hit!

The third film of the “Kung Fu Panda” series will be in Italian cinemas from the 17th of March 2016. Already a blockbuster in January 2016 in American cinemas, the last act promises several surprises to Italian fans of the famous panda Po, among the most beloved characters of animation movies in recent years.

So the ride has been erected for the most part. This time, Merlin decided to go against their traditional all black, or all grey, or all white, and decided to add a bit of color...

aadytda

by painting it all red...

Pic from RCDB.

Wow, that paintjob is very American and Six Flags/Cedar Fair rather than European. A lot of coasters in Europe have great use of natural dark greens and blues but this thing is obnoxious.

It looks like Kentucky Kingdom just gave up and started giving away that offensive red paint leftover from T3. Must've still had some leftover even after Chaser's visually appalling station... ;)

**** vile - also, not gonna be able to ride it the week after next. Ew.

Vile. Awful addition in the first place, but they could at least polish that turd. I guess there could well be some polishing to come though.

At least add different colour to the **** supports. I'll remember to take sunglasses if and when I visit Gardaland.

At this point in kinda hoping the trains are all red too...

^some are red and gold...

Move over Shanghai, the most anticipated theme park attractions of 2016 are about to open in a few days. This video shows a lot of shots of the area, which does look a lot more pleasant than I expected. Love the noodle teacups!

Also, calling this an 'area' is really stretching it. The whole site is just a bit larger than the coaster. It's absolutely tiny.
