What's new

Fun Spot Action Park | White Lightning | GCI Wood

I visited Fun Spot about 8 years ago when me and my family took a vacation to Disney. I don't remember much about it, but knowing that I was there makes me want to go back now, especially since this coaster looks like one hell of a good time. That double drop element looks heavenly.

Thought I would go ahead & re-post the White Lightning section of my Fun Spot expansion construction report here for those only interested in the park's woodie. More info can also seen in the videos Ian mentioned.

All photos were taken over a two day period, with the first day being taken from around the park perimeter & the second day closeups taken during Mark's construction tour.

The future parking lot is being used for White Lightning's support assembling area.

The poles behind the turnaround are for the expansion of the green go-kart track, which will be three stories tall
when completed.

The turnaround will also be taller than any of the go-kart tracks.

Here you can see how they use temporary wooden support beams (on left) to erect the steel support structure.

yeah, but they built the Sky Coaster... started the new go-karts, the SLC is nearly done, wheelie has been repainted, and the new bathroom is ready. :p

Family coaster confirmed on RCDB.

Dwayne has added and removed coasters from his database before, let's wait a while before we push the "100% confirmed" button. I'm still amazed they're adding so much in an off season, so a third coaster wouldn't surprise me.

It is confirmed, it has been for ages.

It's just another one of them little oval kiddy coasters, like they have in Kissimmee.

Indeed, in more than one press release over a year ago they said they'd be getting a kiddie as well. And its always been on the map, even while other rides have come and gone.
