... but with "daddy" out of the equation then perhaps McLaren will be a less attractive place for him :wink:
 
I seem to remember him sayting as long an Dennis is there he will stay. Now Dennis is gone, Lewis may go, especially if McLaren don't perform well this year.

NASCAR BTCC and WRC are top sports for a good crash lol.


I think we will have to see what teams/ manufactures come back/stay in F1 to see if any big boys make a move on teams. But there is a chance Lewis may move to the red side of the sport. As its all about the coin and the sponsors.
 
It will make no difference at Mclaren, Ron has taken more of a back seat for a number of years anyway.

Yeah, other than Hamilton potentially leaving it will change nothing at McLaren. Just remember that all the major players at Ferrari stepped down at the end of 2006 - Todt, Brawn and Byrne. And they were still a winning team and took both championships in 2007.

Teams that compete at the top are never too far away from it in any season. Yeah, they may built crap cars once in a while (McLaren 2004, Ferrari 2005, Renault 2007 to name but 3), but year in year out the team as a whole stays competitive and relatively near to the top of the tree.

^God, the rear wing is really affecting the look of most of these cars. Those side pods too are a big change on last year, more round now compared to before when they looked more square.

Also the front nose on the Renault reminds me of the Benetton in the 90's when they started using a raised nose.

Which (based on what happened in said 90's), could potentially mean that the French cars win with Fernando :wink:

I for one like the cars, much more pleasing on the eye than the 2007/2008 cars.

And yeah, I'd agree that they do all look like the cars of the late 90's.
 
I think the '09 cars look far cooler. All retro and minimalist, without lots of silly bits sticking off everywhere.
 
I hope all these changes for this year and subsequent years make it more interesting and bring back some more teams/manufactures.
 
^Its good they are not touching the back part of the track just concentrating on the main straight and pit area sections. Can't wait to see it in 2010 as I am sick to death of Silverstone at this stage.

Although I would have loved to have seen Brands Hatch developed for F1 as I think its a much better and more interesting track than Donington.
 
Donnington is going to SUCK! They have gotten rid of the best chicane in Britain, as well as one of the best pieces of track in the country. Thank God MOTOGP is leaving for silverstone of all places.

I also do not like the changes to the track, they should have left it where it was.

Donnington was a great race in 1993 for one reason and that was the drive of Senna.

For F1 cars now days the track needs to be made wider and they are not going to be doing that, and the changes they are making are simply to make the track long enough they are not good changes at all.

I also hate the new F1 cars, I was not a fan of all the bits added on thats for sure. But the cars now look 10 years old and the front wing is going to cause a nasty crash, wait until that comes loose in a tap and gets stuck under someones car.

And just like Ferrari the BMW is also illegal and they need to make changes to the rear of the car, or will the FIA just let them get away with it again?

Are we talking about the same race track here? Donnington is plenty wide enough for F1 cars, you could fit 3 cars abrest round most of the track. And on top of that it should be a lot more interesting than Silverstone simply for the fact that it is not perfectly flat :lol:

Yes I do agree with John91 that they have indeed removed quite possibly the best chicane in the world (other than the corkscrew at laguna seca of course).

Also, I do hope that they keep the grass and gravel in place for the most part of the circuit. I know that they've drawn in huge run-off areas for the new section of the track and the final corner... but it would be really good if the grass/sand/gravel combo at the craner curves was kept to bring back the notion that if you go off the track - more often than not you wont be coming back on :P

I've Just thought, with all of the Donnington stuff going on, nobody's thought of this years new track in Abu Dhabi. Personally I think it'll be the same as China i.e fast and ****e, but we'll have to see.
