Favourite Rapids Ride?

Somebody said recently that they thought the rapids at Parque Warner Madrid were second in the world only to Popeye's at Universal IoA.

In my opinion I think the rapids at Phantasialand are the best I've ever been on, with Popeye's coming in a close second.

Opinions?
 
For me are the rapids at Port Aventura, don't know the name of them.
Got soaked the last time I went on them.
My worst have to be at Drayton, they are so dull. I think I got about two drops of water on me.
 
I've never ridden the ones at IOA or phantasialand So for me It's either Kali River Rapids and WDW's AK or Grizzly River Run at DCA

Grand Canyon Rapids ;)

Mine's got to be Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges. They're incredible, from the theming to the soaking ride itself, just water ride bliss.

Another one that comes close is Rápidos de Argos at Terra Mitica. They're great. A really small layout, but with the effects and the speed it takes, it's great. I enjoy them every time I go.

As mentioned above is PortAventura's Grand Canyon Rapids, I've had so much fun on them rapids. Most notably the round that Myself, Maddie, Ollie and Willow had with our eyes closed for the full round. It was fantastic!
 
Bluto ioa simply the best rapids ever.

Rapids at portaventura were rubbish, not getting all this love for the park tbh they were no better than the ones at Alton.
 
Rapids at Port Aventura, every time I've been on them they have been great, much better than the poor excuses of Rapids' rides we have in the UK.
 
The rapids at Port Aventura really don't stick out in my mind, like at all, and I rode them at least twice.

I quite enjoyed the rapids at Rainbow MagicLand too, didn't I marc?
 
Yeah, PA's are quite, quite... average. Not BAD, better than the UK's, but, if you've ever been on any others...

River Quest wins this thread.

Then Popeye.

And then SFMM's are insane. I feel there's a few in America but I can't think of ANY of them. Hershey's were good before they got spited. I love how over the top wet American Rapids are, and how it's hot enough for them <3
 
I really love rapids rides, I wish the UK ones would be a bit more inventive. Sure, people don't want to get that wet because of the weather, but surely there's something else can be done?

I also really like the theming/storyline on Kali Rapids at Animal Kingdom, too bad the ride itself sucks balls.
 
No one likes Kali RR or Grizzly River run at WDW's AK and DCA Respectively. The are the only ones I've ever ridden with a drop. If you go down Backwards on Kali RR you are drenched. If you going sideways the side going down will he wet. I've literally Had the left side of my body Dry and my right soaked. Right down the middle.
 
River quest was alright, it think the experience was dulled slightly by queueing 2 hours for the ****

I really enjoyed the rapids at Tripsdrill, good effort for a smaller park. The most soaked i've been from rapids was at SFGAmerica, they weren't exactly great and didn't have any theming, but I was drenched by the end.
 
Out of ones I've been on, I'd have to go for Popeye as well :)

I also enjoyed Fjord Rafting at Europa Park and remember getting pretty wet on it too.

I don't see why that would be a problem as we have rides like Tidal Wave which are fine.

My top two rapids are:
1. Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges. Just incredible from start to finish and you get soaked. Great themeing as well.
2. River Quest. Another example of an amazing rapids ride. Some unique features.

And while people are mentioning PA's rapids I'll just say that I don't think they're that great. Better than Thorpe's but they're not fantastic. Really short and you don't get wet unless you're unlucky enough to get one that comes through the gap in the side.

Yes, american rapids are ridiculous. I went on the ones at SFMM, but I was facing away from the waves. It just comes in, bam, between the seats and saturates anyone next to it.
When it happened I was:

Blutos are pretty good, yeah.

The ones at DCA are nice from a thematic perspective, You dont get too wet on them, but the drops are cool.

Kali at DAK is nice too, at least the drop on that really soaks you if you come down backwards.

I was rea;ly ooking foward to riding the Jurassic Park ones at USS, but its having work done on it so I look set to be spited.
 
Rapids that stick in my mind are the ones at Bagatelle and Rainbow Magicland. Wet from start to finish without out any dull bits. Can't really ask for more than that.
