Favorite Vekoma SLC?

lets face it. SLC's aren't great, but some are better than others. Whats your favorite? Some are smoother than others, and some include helix's, so what do you like? This does not include ones made from knock off companies. A top 10 list is accepted.

Vortex at Siam Park City by quite a way. It's (or at least was when a I rode it a few years ago) glass smooth, meaning that you can really just appreciate the layout - I honestly think the regular SLC layout is actually pretty good. It looks really fresh with the setting and colour scheme as well.

I know a lot of people would disagree with me, but I didn't think Kumali at Flamingo Land was that bad when I went on it (back in 2007 or something).

While I don't think it was glass smooth, it's by far my favorite SLC. Would love to try those new trains on the one at Warner Bros, Australia.

Well the good thing is that I agree with you, I've really enjoyed Kumali both times I've been to FL, I like the lay out, love the first drop and neither time has been too rough.

The bad thing is that the only other SLC I've ridden for comparison is Infusion, and given that essentially attempted involuntary brain surgery multiple times on my latest ride on it (and the fact the station smelt as bad as most of the locals looked) it's the only real thing I can compare it to, so Kumali wins by default.

I love the first drops on SLCs and they all seem to have a fantastic "opening". Then it all goes to **** really rapidly.

Kumali is brilliant at the start and then... It just dies off and is really dull. It's like Great Bear only a quarter of the length

Jubilee Odyssey is superb with the really high, exposed drop and forceful loop. Then the thing becomes a bit rough and slows down. It's a real mixed bag, but that drop and loop - for me - made the ride and it overshadowed the poorer side.

Infusion? Brilliant drop and then a mix of high forces and pain. If you put your head forward, you lose all the pain, but the ride also loses all the forces for some reason. So it's forceful and painful or pain free and dull.

The SLC at SFNE (Mind Eraser?) was down when I was there, so I'm limited to the three UK models for experience.

Ah, the best of crap....
My awkwardly laid of list of SLC's is as followed

SLC
"662m Prototype"
T2 - Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - (KY) USA

"689m Standard"
Hangman - Wild Adventures - (GA) USA - 2008
Mind Eraser - Six Flags America - (MD) USA
Mind Eraser - Six Flags New England - (MA) USA - 1998
Mind Eraser - Darien Lake - (NY) USA
Serial Thriller - Six Flags Worlds of Adventure - (OH) USA
Tizona - Terra Mítica - Spain - 2007
Top Gun - Canada's Wonderland - (ON) Canada - 2007

"765m Extended w/Helix"
Jaguar - Isla Mágica - Spain - 2007

"Custom"
Great Nor'Easter/Fly the Great Nor'Easter - Morey's Piers - (NJ) USA - 2006/2008

"Shenlin"
Kumali - Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo - England - 2006

"Suspended Family Coaster"
Rugrats Runaway Reptar/Flying Ace Aerial Chase - Carowinds - (NC) USA - 2004/2010
Rugrats Runaway Reptar - Kings Island - (OH) USA - 2005
Silver Streak - Canada's Wonderland - (ON) Canada - 2007
Swamp Thing - Cypress Gardens Adventure Park - (FL) USA - 2008
Swamp Thing - Wild Adventures - (GA) USA - 2008

Before the new trains were added, I would have placed Great Nor'Easter as the worst (although, even with the new trains I'd only place it in the mid-rage of the SLC family....)

I'm gonna be the odd-ball-out with this one... But honestly I'd say T2 at SFKK was one of the best, if not THE best SLC I'd ridden. And Hangman at Wild Adventures wouldn't be that far behind, although it has become rougher than when it was the first few times I rode it.

Though it is painted McDonald's colors, Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure has been the smoothest SLC I have ridden.

... Bearing in mind that smooth and SLC are paradoxical.

You're SUCH a goon.

You'd love Peep's goon game, but you'd win, so I'm not inviting you to play.

This is like trying to pick your favourite way of getting smacked in the face. I wouldn't enjoy it in any form, but I SUPPOSE some might be vaguely less bad than others.

In that case, I think Furie probably summed it up already:

I did quite like the effects on the Gardaland one, but that didn't stop it from overall being "faaaaakkin shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt!"
