Fantastic old coaster footage/pics

Indeed Furie, and this one shows how it all started!

Amazing to think you can still ride these today.

And here's one of the Switchback...

And the Scenic Railway with Big Dipper in the background...

For anybody that has ever been fascinated by Action Park (the water park with the looping water slide and whose attractions killed and injured a ton of people), I've just found an excellent video showcasing a few of the rides.

Sadly no looping water slide footage, but you can still tell how absurdly insane some of the rides are! :p

That park is partially to blame for New Jersey's outrageous insurance rates. The old owners also got their hands back on the park a few years ago, so I can't wait to see the headlines about it.

Went to Blackpool pleasure beach for the first time in the summer, I'm amazed how different it looks! It looks as if the Big Dipper is on the beach! XD No road, no promenade. Amazing.

Know roomraider posted this one a few pages back but there's the video of the Belle Vue Bobs in proper ratio back up now (the other vid was stretched for some reason). Very shaky POV is at 4:17 :)

Such a shame this one isn't still with us, as would have had the best woodie in the UK on my doorstep!

Action Park is crazy. I've heard lots of things about it and the photo of the looping waterslide makes it all look so sketchy. I guess it was sketchy though with all those accidents. There's no way a park like that could exist today.

Can't remember if I posted this here... Original Vampire!

Terror Tomb...

And this amazing old (very early 90's) family home video of Chessington. Cannot believe anyone went to those editing efforts... Haha. WHO DID THAT?

None belong to me, just found them on tube.

From ACE's Facebook, no clue what ride it is but according to the person who shared it it's from 1961.

Almost a full POV of Toyland Bores - woohoo :p

I do like that video though, it's from when I started going to Alton again regularly after a four or so year hiatus :)

For those that didn't see this on the rcdb facebook page I edited the hour+ video to the good bit. This is from the 1982 Tournament of Roses/Rose Bowl Parade.

Here's another cool one from 1989. The coaster is Python at Efteling.

Geauga Lake. Dead since 2007.

Think of the amount of Goon points on the roller coaster float! :p

I've found a video of what it was like to holiday in Southend in the 1960s, with brief shots of the Kursaal, Peter Pan's (including Wendy Glide, which I've never seen a picture of before), the old pier head before it all burnt down, and cliff attractions. Plus, plenty of blatant sexism and chauvinism!

A video of Korakuen Amusement Park (what is now La Qua) in Tokyo taken in 1987. Shows off what I believe was the first ever Ultra Twister as well as the old Jet Coaster which ran around the perimeter of the park and featured side by side lifts.

Same park but taken in 1975 (Before even the Arrow shuttle loop) and shows some footage of a show from back then.

Not a coaster photo, but still worth posting.

See, part of me thinks the Great Adventure model came first, it seems to be the only one with "rings" on the first drop and along the bunny hop as well, the rest seem to start the rings as supports for the heart-line rolls. The Great Adventure model is also the only one that seems to have the back to back heart-lines at ground level. The rest seem to do the first roll while still heading downward from the reverse transfer. (but great video still :p)
