You mean like B&M? :p (and yes i know you said almost every)

Its not that unusual. Intamin and Mack have gone for lap bars Vekoma and B&M for vests. I dont find them a problem really. they are 1000x better than the old head bangers. But enthusiasts will always find a way to moan.

Oh those new trains with the much more comfortable restraints and better viewing angles arent good enough. whawha... etc
Intamin, Mack, Gerstlauer, Maurer Söhne, Zierer, RMC, Zamperla, Gravity Group, Premier and even the new in-house built coaster at Lagoon.. As far as I know every manufacturer apart from B&M and Vekoma uses lapbars these days :)

And tbh the Vekoma vests are horrible :? They're soo restrictive, way too small, and gave me a lot of pain while riding Speed of Sound, which is why I also hate that ride! The old Vekoma restraints are not that bad, and regular B&M otsr are fine (haven't been on a B&M vest coaster yet). I really can't see though why a big company like Vekoma doesn't put more effort into making the rides comfortable for their guests? Especielly when it's so easy for them to just copy one of their competitors successful lapbar designs!

That's better - an explanation to the somewhat pointless comment ha.

I'd much rather the slight alteration to the dynamics of the train than those old hideous OTSR's.

Agreed! If the coaster is smooth (I sincerely hope this one will turn out to be), I find the old OTSRs more enjoyable than the new vest. They are quite fine on B&Ms, but rather terrible on Vekomas... Uh </3

Nothing is worse than the old Vekoma OTSRs <//3 but yeah, the vests suck. It's weird, since their SFC trains and restraints are among the most comfy of all coasters I've done.

We have track!

I'm really intrigued as to how this turns out. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.

Going back to what I said about the rendering that got me crucified, this will either be absolutely amazing or god awful. If they engineer it to perfection without a single flaw, that'll fly through there at an amazing speed. But if they don't get everything exactly right (which I'm skeptical of because Vekoma) I think that element could be a real neck crusher.

I could be wrong, but that's a pretty tight element to barrel through right out of the first inversion.

I'm sorry but 'perfection without a single flaw' is complete **** - you're only basing the success (in terms of fun ride) on a coaster if it is completely flawless? That's idiotic.

Oh look, I said something and it got taken out of context yet again! How idiotic!

I meant that one particular element. If it speeds through that right out of the first inversion. Like, if there's even a single spot on that element where the banking is off by anything more than a negligible margin it could make for a nasty whack on the head.

Never said anything about the success or failure of this ride, I pointed out some strange shaping in a particular element. I advise you take what I say seriously. I'm not stupid like you think I am. ;)

I don't think you're stupid? I just think that you post a lot of **** that can be 'taken out of context' when in reality, this is a forum - you can't gage the tone or understand their motive behind their comments, it's black and white as to what you said, hence why I replied the way I did.

That makes more sense to what you're saying, but still, I think you're being WAY overly critical on this just because it's a Vekoma? If this was an Intamin everyone would be having a **** over it and not worrying about if a certain element has a slight banking issue or not. To which, this looks like some of the best track work Vekoma have done in a long time - so far anyway.

^ That flat section of track is slightly different to a banking issue with what I'm referring to - we also still don't know if it's ACTUALLY like that or whether that is simply the camera malfunctioning, as as far as I'm aware, that's the ONLY image circulating of it like that?

^There are loads of other pics showing that it's the track. We proved it's not the camera. There's nothing else warped in the image.

Essentially, all manufacturers can mess up at one point or another.

Every manufacturer can mess up, and they can all mess up in a variety of ways. Intamin **** ed up when I-305's wheels started melting off the coaster. Gerstlauer **** ed up when their faulty sensor threw a fat lady from their trains. Vekoma **** ed up when I almost needed Canada's free healthcare for an open skull fracture getting off of Flight Deck.

However, here I'm referring to general smoothness of their trackwork. Intamin is generally known for having smoother rides with minimal headbanging. Vekoma is known for having cheaper, rougher rides like boomerangs and SLCs that don't have very smooth track and sometimes a horrendous rattle.

Granted, I've not ridden any of Vekoma's newer creations (Battlestar Galactica, ect) that have this newer track style so I might be a bit basic to discuss it, but from what I've seen of their work, if I were a park wanting that element on a coaster Vekoma would be at the bottom of my rankings of who would be likely to do it right considering they can hardly pull off a simple cobra roll on a boomerang.

Now if we were discussing whether or not this thing will operate at the beginning of its second season, I'd give that to Vekoma over Intamin in a heartbeat. :p
