I put the video through a translator with subscripts, we can expect a track length of 679 meters (2,227.7 ft). The glass dome is also 50 meters (164 ft) high.

Unfortunately the opening of the Dubai Hills Mall is delayed to Q1 of 2022.

They put the name signage up about a week ago. They have been recently running tests on the exterior lighting system. The lighting sequencing flashes around the exterior looks like “bolts of lightening”, so I guess the name fits. As the previous poster said, rumor is mall opening 1Q22, I’ve heard maybe February. This ride is completed, but I have not heard any track or ride vehicle testing yet (I live, literally, across the street). Hope you enjoy the pix, if I can catch some of the lighting tests, I will do so.

In relation to this, the coaster now has its own official Instagram page and the latest news coverage from today does state that they still intend to open during Q1 of 2022 — no significant delays in the books atm.

Just rode it. Not bad. The launch is amazing. It’s a bit rough which is worrying for opening day.

Here’s my review

Well. It has a preshow which is not bad. It’s a shaky floor with all round plasma screens. It’s a fake lift in dubai with a back story about a storm coming. You then board the train. It’s a 14 seater train, they have two and it’s lapbars. There’s a nice dip out of the station. Straight into the verticals lift. This is a launched lift and is amazing. At the top it’s heavily breaker as you go into a small dip. There is a corkscrew roll and a dive drop, I could have the name of that wrong. Lots of swoops track as well.
Overall the launch is amazing. It takes the inversions quite slowly. And I was surprised how slow the whole ride seemed. It was in the back and it seemed quite rough in places but it was the first day and the intamin gods were there tweaking it. It’s a great ride. And a really great addition to the UAE lineup.
