Dracula Park coming to Romania in 2027

Another day, another small park announcement. Local officials in Miercurea-Ciuc, Romania have announced plans for a new Transylvanian themed park to open in 2027 on a 56 million euro budget. It's expected to create over 200 jobs and attract up to 600,000 visitors annually. The name "Dracula Park" is not final but appears to have stuck.

Usually the point where I begin judging a park project as legitimate is when manufacturers begin publicly attaching themselves, and yes Zamperla is officially signed on to provide attractions. You can clearly make out the Disk'O here;

The coaster, for all intents and purposes, appears to be a tiny Thunderbolt 375m layout (Relámpago). Presumably using the upgraded Lightning hardware.

Some more info from LinkedIn:

Dracula Land, a vast development of 164 hectares, to be built exclusively with private capital and valued at over 1 billion euros, aims to transform the most famous Romanian myth into a top international destination.

The concept has been launched, and development will begin in stages in the upcoming period.

The essential element that differentiates Dracula Land from all the projects announced over the past two decades is the already-prepared infrastructure: the consolidation of 83 land parcels into a single 164-hectare site, a masterplan created with global entertainment companies, Big Four audit, studies and permits obtained over years of work, and substantial investments in the pre-launch phase.

What Dracula Land will include:

· DraculaLand Theme Park – over 780,000 sqm, 6 immersive themed zones and over 40 major attractions;
· Multifunctional Arena – approximately 80,000 built sqm, 22,500 seats for concerts, festivals, esports competitions, and international events;
· Fashion & Home-Deco Luxury Outlet – approximately 9,000 built sqm of retail and 3,000 built sqm of F&B, with over 70 brands, a concept developed together with Piuarch Milan and The Mall Firenze Team;
· Dracula Grand Hotel, Dracula Family Hotel, Dracula Inn
· Aqua Park & Thermal Spa – 50,000 built sqm, over 30 water attractions and one of the largest wave pools in Europe;
· Racing Track & Motor Park – circuit of about 4.5 km, with paddock, garages, VIP zones, and media facilities;
· Business Accelerator & Tech Hub – approximately 15,000 built sqm, over 1,000 workstations for startups in gaming, AI, and creative digital industries.

An investment designed for future generations

The developers emphasize that Dracula Land was designed to remain relevant in the coming decades through its dual component – physical and digital.

Economic and social impact

According to current financial estimates, DraculaLand will generate:
· over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs;
· a total economic impact estimated at approximately 5 billion euros in the next decade;
· around 3 million visitors annually in the first phase.

Are these even the same project? I can't find reference to Romania or the park's location in HandsupPantsdown's post (except mentioning that Dracula is Romanian), and there is a world of difference between a 64M Euro budget, and a 1B Euro budget. That's like comparing Lost Island to Epic Universe.

Big 4 attachment to a project doesn’t necessarily bode well. A lot of the cancelled gulf projects had a big 4 involved.

A more notable stamp of hope is the involvement of Chris Lange, the former creative lead from Europa who’s been bouncing from success to success in the industry in recent years. Wonder if he’s cashing in on this one or if there’s genuine potential.

It’s a shame because the studios involved have skills at their disposal to make proper concept art without obvious AI use, which leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. A cautious watch on for now for me. It seems to have good bones but there are some warning flags on this one. I guess after Qiddiya, anything is possible

Another concept image shared here, although the source is not given:

And just in case there was any doubt about the art being AI generated:

No. These are 2 totally different projects, pretty far away from each other. One is a smaller theme park in a rural area of Transilvania. The other one is a multi destination mall/theme park/arena/events space/resort outside of Bucharest. These projects have nothing to do with each other.

The topic should probably be split into one for Dracula Park and one for Dracula Land.

If we keep going on about Romanian theme parkish devlopments we could do a topic for Nibiru too. This one actually exists (sort of).
