I live in a pretty decent area.
Below average crime rates, decent schools in the area, close to the shops and most of the chav groups normally hang around right on the other side of the village (where all the council houses are).
Once you get past Chelmsford you pretty much get into the countryside as well. :)

Compared to places like Hatfield and Ilford, Great Baddow/Chelmsford is brilliant!

How did I know you would post something like that Ben?! :p

Milton Keynes is a very nice place, hence the reason why I moved out so that I could stay here rather than live with my mum.

Eugh.
I have a flatmate where all she does is bum on about Milton Keynes and it's the best place in the world for anything.
:x

Why does MK always get dragged up when these sort of things are discussed, both on forums and MSN? MK is alright. Modern which is nice, but it's far too efficient for it's own good, lack of character and too many bloody roundabouts to navigate. :p

I live in a little residential area outside Bournemouth, which is probably the most dull place ever. It's safe and that, mainly because the average age of the population is over 80, with the local highlight being the post office, being the only 'attraction' within about 3 miles of my house.

It's alright here I guess...

We did have some guy across the street hopped up on something who attacked a cop with the blunt side of a katana... Everywhere is is alright I think.

I live on a council estate, and yet I love it.

There's hardly any trouble,it's very peaceful, and if any yobs want to start any trouble,a swift punch in the face sorts them out.

I live a stones throw from the beach, the countryside is spitting distance away, and all the locals are inbred,it's fantastic. :--D

Some kids tried to mug me and Andre in an underpass in Milton Keynes once. Lovely place

Where I lived before Uni was quite nice, a small town called Waltham Abbey. As with any Essex town, there were a fair share of chavs, but not the troublemaking kind, just the bored kind that hang around, they never actually did anything though. There are also a couple of council estates but nothing horrific, just a poorer class of people living there.

Where I live at Uni, which is Ocean Village in Southampton City Centre, is really really beautiful. The locals can't seem to understand why people like it so much because to them it's a dump but it's got everything I could want within walking distance. I never see any criminals (except if you venture into the notorious St.Mary's) and it always seems to have a pleasant atmosphere, plus amazing nightlife EVERY night of the week.

I like Southampton =D

New Ocean Village is awesome, but beforehand there was the most dumpiest shopping centre ever (worse than East Street shopping centre) so thats why most people think its a dump still... stupid people!

I live in a rather posh area inbetween Southampton & Portsmouth, called Warsash. It's full of old people, more old people and the occasional little kid lol. Although apparently there is a dogging hotspot nearby

East Street scares the crap out of me, I want to shoot a zombie flick in there...

Also, Bargate, what's up with that?

Haha yes, perfect location as its always so quiet, I use it as a cut through if I walk from work to football.

Bargate has just gone majorly downhill ever since West Quay opened, it's being knocked down soon (along with Debenhams) and being rebuilt into a covered high street, I think lol.

Haha, Milton Keynes? Good?

I'd post what my area's like, but, I'm laughing too hard.

I went to a great funfair in Milton Keynes last year :D

I live in Haywards Heath, about 16 miles from Brighton - not a bad place to live and easy to get to London etc :D

My village is quite good. Not much bad stuff happens, obviously there's the usual chavs and unlikables, but you'll get them everywhere. Just down the road is Winsford, whose chav density is high. Northwich is a fairly good place. According to some Reader's Digest feature, Vale Royal (the borough where I live) is 11th out of about 200 in the best places to live (however, I would object).

Fixed for myself.
I've just heard that in the past week, there's been 4 burglaries, and a dog has been killed, very close to where I live.

Still better than Hatfield though. :p

Where I live for uni, is all right, although it's like the most 'notorious' student housing area in the city. There are always many torn thrash bags outside on weekends, random stuff threwn out from balconies, few times I've seen burned trashbins, bent lampposts, but I never felt unsafe, seen or even heard anything dangerous etc.

Back in my parents place, is really nice, calm, but there are like two troublesome quite infamous, smallish suburb areas within 4 miles, with their share of violence, drug abuse (incl. a needle-change center) and poor alcoholic people etc. From what I've seen though the areas have definitely a worse reputation than what they're worth, having said that, I still wouldn't walk between the concrete 'jungle' during dark or so.

Grimsby, highest underage pregnancy and racism in the country, or so I've heard.

However, I actually live just outside of Grimsby, in small village called Waltham. Which is much nicer than the actual town.

And here I was thinking you lived in the nice end of town, Gangster4Life.

You should really read more of his posts. He probably has THE most ironic CF name possible, and I'm sure it's not done intentionally.

Anyway...

Wrexham is a dump. To be fair, it looks a lot nicer than it did when I was growing up there (new shopping precincts etc.), but it's still full of the same old scum that have always lived there. It's rough as f@#k basically, thanks mostly, though not exclusively, to one of the UK's biggest council estates:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caia_Park_Riots

It was also listed somewhere in the top 20 in "The Book of Crap Towns". I haven't got the book on me to actually check. I actually wrote a Wrexham travel guide in the "life outside" topic ages ago. Take a look for a better idea of the gloriousness that is Wrexham:

Read it. Seriously. It's some of my finest work.

That has been edited by some lovely locals:

This approach led to a great deal of criticism from people in Caia Park who felt that they were all being punished for the behaviour of many people from outside the estate. The kurds got away with it but the locals got done for it! The law sucks and doesnt help british people.
