I don't treat fast food any different. It's just food. Some of it is really good quality like McDonald's fries (when they're not oversalted and cooked in bad oil), Six Flags chicken tenders, and Wendy's fish sandwich. Some of it is horrid utter dog **** like Burger King Burgers and KFC Popcorn Chicken. I guess I'd have to go with "love it" because I eat more fast food than I hate it, but that's a REALLY big blanket statement to make about a bunch of food just because it comes from a chain restaurant and you can prepare it in 3 minutes.

I am currently eating a well earned Parmo after 10 hours of playing poker. Yes I like fast food.

@Hyde @Pokemaniac @Hixee I think this person might be a bot… their first post is to bump a 16 year old, non park-related thread, and the post is written a bit like it’s leading into an advertisement.

Although admittedly, they do have their favourite coaster down as VelociCoaster and their favourite park down as Universal Studios… so what do I know?

While I’m posting in here, I might as well offer my own thoughts on this topic seeing as I’ve never posted in it, if nobody minds.

I do like fast food every now and then. I’m quite a plain eater in terms of condiments, so I don’t tend to go for anything too fancy, but I am a fan of a good chicken nugget meal from McDonald’s or Burger King! And I don’t know why, but I always think their chips (or fries, if you’re American) taste really nice and salty! I don’t eat fast food often, but it’s a nice treat to look forward to on the odd occasion for me (usually in a service station)!

I also had KFC once, which was also nice enough. KFC also get brownie points for serving Pepsi instead of Coke, which would always be my personal preference in the cola arena!

If I'm in the US it's all I eat because I can't stand American service. Is everything ok with your food? Can I help you with anything? Do you want a refill?

And then you're expected to tip on top.
Nah I'll just have a taco bell.

If I'm elsewhere I'll eat at a restaurant all day! I hate how forced American service feels.

It's because they get paid way lower than minimum wage, so they have to rely on tips in order to like, live.

Depending on the state, a base pay for servers may be less than $5 an hour without considering tips. And the problem is tipping is still not "formally required" or anything like that, so you've got some scumbags that still don't leave a tip (essentially wasting the server's time). Because a tip isn't 100% guaranteed, of course servers are going to be checking in on you regularly and making sure things are taken care of. Scratch my back I'll scratch yours. Maybe it feels forced, maybe it's not, but it's their job at the end of the day.

With that said, the system in the rest of the world is way better, and I think America should do away with tipping altogether. Pay the employees a livable wage, and the number customers see on the bill is the number they actually pay. Some restaurants have already begun doing that on their own, but they're still far and few between.

Sorry to ramble on like that. I can understand if the regular attention from the server feels a little unusual. But I just don't feel like that's a fair reason to not dine out.

I was at Universal studios Orlando last year and I bought a beer from a quick service food counter, no tip asked for, no issues. Later on that day I bought the same beer from one of those fridge with an umbrella kind of stalls that only sells drinks, when I paid the person working it asked me if I'd like to leave a tip. Because I'm English (polite) I left the tip and said nothing but inside I was absolutely seething, I know I didn't technically have to leave a tip (for someone literally just passing me a beer out of the fridge) but the American system is set up to guilt trip you based on the idea that these staff basically can't afford to live without the tips and if you don't leave one you, the customer, are responsible for that person's financial welfare, not the multi billion dollar corporation that employs them. I was talking to someone later that evening and they explained to me that the first beer I'd bought was from a 'cashier' who would have been paid a higher wage than the person serving me the 2nd beer who was classed as a 'server'. Ridiculous system. Pay your staff fairly Universal inc.

Anyway, fast food. I resist the idea of it and for the most part avoid it but when I do eat it, I eat (Colonel's) bucket loads of it in one sitting.
