So the park has posted this picture on their FB-Page.

They have been in the need of an upgrade of their water park for some time, so maybe new watersides.
It could also be, god forbid it, a splash battle.

If it is indeed a splash battle it would be perfect with the viking theme from Plopsaland. It would go so well along with the bobsled coaster.

Personally I really hope it's an expansion of the water park. Everything in there is absolute rubbish, except for the waterplay structure, but that one is destroyed with unheated water. The water at all the other rides is fine, just not that one.

If they did a solid investment (around €5 millions) they could get so many new slides in. Maybe a Kraken Racer, a 4-person Tornado Wave and a few pipelines as well as some small kiddy slides. There is no other aspects in an amusement park where you get so much value for your money as in the water park section.

If they did that then they have a solid water park, that would not need investment for some quite some time again, and they could keep focusing on the dry side of the park again.

It looks like they have removed a few trees from the island, and are actually digging it away.

Putting a Splash Battle in a water park is a pretty good idea - they always look a bit daft in parks where the weather is moderate most of the time (Alton Tower's one for example) but in a theme park where it's mostly warm, or a water park where you're going to get wet anyway they're pretty good fun.

Whatever they do, this park can do alomst no wrong in my eyes, so it'll be awesome no matter what.

Are there any splash battles in water parks that already exist? I only ask because I'm not sure they do. Also, I got told off for taking my shoes off on one, which I'm guessing is for safety reasons, so would that be a complete pain in the bum to keep putting your shoes on and then taking them off again?

Danish news station has revealed Djurs' plans for 2014

They are basically building a new land called "Vikingeland" along with a viking ship attraction called "Drageskibet"
They also say that Thors Hammer vil be integrated in the new land.

I like it, that part of the park has never really had a "land name" and looking at the last couple of years, this should be wonderfully themed.

Nice news! Djurs is really shaping up to become the top park of scandinavia (if it isn't already)!

That is great news!

I have actually been thinking of this Vikingeland for the last 2 years now, always thought it would be a natural direction for that side of the park.

The park will reveal more on Facebook tomorrow, hopefully there will also be at least one children's ride in the new area as well.
I can't wait to see how well themed this area will look when it's done.


The park lacks a good thrill ride that invert's you, and I think one of those could also be intergrated into this land in the future.

A ride like the new Spincycle at Silverwood would be perfect.

They could theme it to look wooden, like Sledgehammer or the defunct topple tower at Dollywood, along with some dark ropes that looks to hold it together, and a giant stone at the top weight.

I even got so excited when the ride at Silverwood was announced so I wrote SBF and asked if they coud build a bigger version. They certanliy could, and they sent me drawings for a 32 seater version at either 43m or 54m tall. The 54m would only cost € 1.280.000,00, compared to a giant frisbee from Huss or Zamperla at €2 million.
I wonder how I can get my suggestion to the park's CEO :?

Sorry for drifting away, I'm just very passionate about this park.

Looks cute, good to see the park consistently adding fab new additions year after year.
