Naturally, without any official evidence, this is just a rumour.

Taken from another forum:

Hello Britishes !

I'm coming to tell you that Luna Park in Cap d'Agde (south of France) has just bought Corkscrew coaster in Flamingoland.

The coaster is scheduled for next summer right here. It might arrive in France this autumn.

I'll tell you when it'll be here.

Have a nice night !

See you !

Hello Britishes is genius

Dammit, I was hoping to ride this at some point. Guess I'm gonna have to go to France.

Poke your head out of the car door while it's moving and let it bounce along the kerb, you've got a pretty close experience there ;)

This is good news, really good news. That's a decent tract of land they're freeing up there for a nice new development - yummy :)

It's good news if true :). Let's hope they don't waste the land like Alton did when they removed theirs.

That's great news. Hopefully they'll be able to add something moderately good in that area now.

So there are no more (whole) vekoma corkscrew's in the UK....

It's the end of an era! I don't know why but I do really like corkscrew's and it's a shame that I'll never ride one in the UK again.

There is good news...
-There's probably going to be a CF live there (in which CF might get on the news again) soon
-Flamingoland to get new ride! What abou a woodie now...

Great news if this is true. It will not only free up the space where the coaster sits, but if they use some of the coach park space they've actually got a fairly hefty footprint to work with.

Yeah this would be good for the park if it turns out to be true, all it does is sit behind Velocity, being unloved. A bit of a shame in the respect that its an old classic, but it needs to go, at least it shall be relocated and not just demolished.
Again frees up a nice plot of land in which to work with in the future.

I am the only one who finds it odd, that in this day and age, someone is actually willing to pay for one of these coasters?

^Well...

They're cheap, medium sized, compact and provide thrills for 8+ year old's...

But surely one purchased directly from vekoma would be better...

I doubt very much that they still make these. Though I guess if someone really wants one new, they cant say no.

Oh, medium sized as well as compact? Thats a new one! The size is main problem for me, and the fact that after the corkscrews, its boring as ****, and pointless. The Whirlwind model has much more appeal to me, they're tiny, and they cut out the boring crap that this model has, I can see why parks would go for them, but not this...

They only added those cameras on the ride that filmed you on it last year didn't they?
It's a shame if it goes as it'll mean there's none left in the UK. At least I've got the credit. :p

^^Corkscrew's are boring for coaster enthusiasts but for you're average kid they're quite fun!

However the corkscrew model is very outdated. I can't see this staying in the park for very long either.

They probably only bought it for the price...

They have gone already, they were not there at the start of the season.

Shame they are getting rid of it, I knew it was going to happen after speaking to Nick. He said about 1 of 2 Vekoma rides is going. Couple more rides on the classic this season then =]

Considering the south of France is pants for coasters this might give the area a little kick start in getting bigger coasters.

I knew there was a reason I should have gone to the live today. Even though this was the only one left in the UK, at least it wasn't scrapped. Also, now I only have the choice of one painful coaster to go on when I'm up north. :p

^It is bad. It once knocked 5 of my perfectly stable teeth loose. Corkscrew has to be the 2nd roughest coaster I've been on, just behind the ultimate.
