Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusiasts.

A most of you probably know, I'm in Canada at the moment with Taylor. About a fortnight befor I flew out, Taylor informed me that a little place about 30 minutes from her house was getting a perminant CRED... so I forced her to take me ;)

Colosanti's is basically a greenhouse/garden centre which has a petting zoo and a few kiddie rides. Nothing spectacular, nothing fancy, BUT the cred is brand new and in need of a few goons. I was too tall to stand most of the time a the ceiling was very low and there are pipes, wires and crap hanging from the ceiling </3

We drove from Taylor's and arrived at about 2.20pm. Free entry for the win, but it cost $2 each to enter the petting zoo/show area, and luckily enough a show was about the start as we arrived, so we took our seats.

The show was for kids, no doubt. In fact, the whole place is for kids - any 3-8 year old would love it. The show started with a tarantula...

...which scared the **** out of Taylor so much that when the worker came near her with it, she screamed promoting laughter from parents and 4 year olds alike. It was hilarious!

He then asked for volunteers. Naturally, as a big kid I volunteered, but as loads of other kids put there hands up, I opted to pass as I wanted the kids to have the fun. The guy told me to come down anyway. I clearly look like a paedo here...:

I got to hold a corn snake. I've had bigger things in my hands and around my neck before ;)

He then brought out a hedgehog. For me, it was nothing as they are wild in the UK, but for Canadians it was something quite exotic.

The show was very short, but plenty for both kids and adults alike to learn.

As we paid $2 each, we decided to make the most of the petting zoo. Goats, deer and peacocks for the win!

So exciting.

After seeing all of the animals, we headed off to find what we had come especially for: MINER MIKE <3

I think I'm almost the same height as it. Quite embarrassing, but adults can ride without kids, so no need to abduct children. The ride was closed when we arrived, but opened a few minute later. At $2 a pop, it's very reasonably priced and each go gives you 8 circuits.

I naturally took back row, Taylor took a few rows in front.

The corner in the back really whips you, but it was fun, fun, fun. One of the ride ops laughed at the fact struggled to fit in and get out of the coaster, but all in all it was totally worth the embarrassment <3

There was crazy golf in the back - 18 holes for just over $5, with $1 returned at the end. It was fun, if a little under-themed, but wasted a good half hour or so.

There's a few inflatables, a fruit and veg market place, a plant marketplace and a restaurant there too. Me and Tay picked up a few doughnuts and we were served by some jailbait <3 She was probably at least 16, but still, she'd get it. Almost all of the workers were 17 or under - jailbait heaven.

After a good two hours, we called it that - total cost of about $10 each PLUS probably one of the first - if not THE first - goons to have got the cred <3

Looks like you're having a blast, can't wait to see you for the live!

Re: Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusia

Haha, in my defense, because I'm usually not a credit whore, we were gonna go to the petting zoo anyway, so the cred was sort of just like a bonus :p .

Vomiting candy floss is just the worse...

Hahaha :p You always come up with the best things.

Re: Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusia

What can we say other than "aren't they adorable". Just a couple of cute goons hanging out on the little train. I suspect that it went right to their number 1 spot.

Haha. Love it.

Colasanti's ftw <3 I **** hate the goats though. Every time I step into the petting zoo I get all annoyed and scared that I'm gonna ruin my shoes with goat poo.

Re: Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusia

I was going to mention that it came in the bottom five of Ontario and area's list of worst animal parks, but I'm sure that was only the day you visited ;)

Re: Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusia

Phil <3

Little error though: it says the coaster opened in the 40s... it opened a few weeks back ;)

But a good, fun read - nice one furie!

Where did you find that out Tay? :p

If either of you wish to write anything more, you're welcome

Re: Colosanti's Tropical Gardens: meet cred-whoring enthusia

^ On their website it says it opened in 1941 :p . But no, I think you have the whole thing down pretty well, love ;)
